    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

There are various phone apps that use the phone’s mic to measure decibel level. I thought I listened loud, but it only measured at 70db most of the time. 85db is crazy to me. 100db, insane. I don’t even know how that could be anything but painful

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread

If you don't need a closed back or a portable option, then I think it can be your only pair of headphones If you want a different sound, the Susvaras (smoother and more forgiving) or SR1as (higher resolution and larger soundstage) are great choices and contrast well with the TCs

    The Stax Thread III

They tried that with the T2. And it was too powerful and dangerous, so they stopped making it. People are still building DIY versions and consider it to be the best energizer ever

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Ok, I’m not familiar with that amp, but I did a quick search. It appears powerful enough. I’d get the TCs. Pretty much everybody loves them, and those that don’t, end up liking them later. Admittedly, I haven’t heard the LCD-5, but from initial impressions, it’s likely not a TC beater

    HiFiMan Susvara

Yeah, high gain. You do make a good point about music selections. I’m super into metal and hip-hop and that may affect my impressions

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I take the Can Jam impressions with a grain of salt. No way can you properly evaluate a pair of headphones with a very limited amount of time, or in a loud conference room. If I heard the SR1as for the first time in that environment, I have a feeling I wouldn’t have liked them. However, I love...

    The Stax Thread III

I briefly considered the Aperio, but being forced to use their energizer is too limiting for me. Same with the HE-1. If I was to spend major bucks on an e-stat, it would be the Shangri-la Sr. The headphones can be used with different energizers, and the energizer can be used with different...

    HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

So, I've spent a good amount of time with the R10Ps, and I still like them. I actually like them a lot. I guess the only flaw might be treble, in that it is a bit subdued. That is fine with me though. Bass, soundstage, imaging, layering are all very good. I absolutely love the BlueMini...

    dCS Bartok

I was debating between the Rossini and clock or getting the Sean Jacobs DC4 psu for my DAVE and M-Scaler. I decided upon the DC4 PSUs. It’s a big improvement from the stock DAVE and M-Scaler power supplies. I highly recommend it

    HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

I’m glad I have the old R10P version, due to the added benefit of using the BlueMini and the new R2R BlueMini (I assume) I know it is kinda crazy to use Bluetooth with $5.5K headphones, but I like the wireless convenience for work when I’m just casually listening. I can use the XLR connection...

It looks more different than just a new headband. There are cables on both ear cups too. Maybe it’s V2. I wonder if there are sound quality improvements as well

The TCs are better with everything except poorly recorded albums (like some low-fi black metal). The Susvaras are more forgiving with those type of albums

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Yeah, if it is equal to the resolution of the SR1as or Susvaras (or even Solitare P), it would be nice. If it’s not, what’s the point? At least for me, that’s not interesting. We shall see though. I look forward to more impressions from others. I brought up weight earlier, with some saying...

The TT2 is 18W at 8Ω out of the balanced connectors on the back, while the Anni is 10W at 8Ω. The Anni is a bit more powerful out of the 6.35 than the TT2 out of the 6.35
