  1. Creator 4 Silver cable for Fitear - 2.5mm TRRS

Selling my Fitear Creator 4 cable which came with my Fitear Titan's. I switched to a different DAP and no longer need an 2.5mm cable. This cable retails for ~$1,600 and is IMO one of, if not the best options on the market for the Titan, Air 2, and 335 series. I would easily put this up there...
  2. G-Technology 18TB G-DRIVE USB 3.1 external hard drive.

This is the 18TB version in USB Type-C 3.1 (not TB3). It is brand new and will ship with the box and all accessories. I opened the box just to test the drive and it is fully functional. This drive will also charge a macbook (or any laptop with a compatible USB type-c 3.2 port) at 45w. Retails...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Calling out Larry Ho has nothing to do with the issue at hand. But people should call out bad customer service. It's the only way to make companies try harder at getting our business. And the issue at hand goes more than a bit beyond the normal flavor of dispute about repairs.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

I see. So "trollish" is kosher but "troll" isn't. Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

So...it's okay for you to call OP a troll, but not okay for others to call you one? Glass houses and stones and all that.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Try again. Definitely not the same person. I didn't want to get involved myself regarding initiating this thread, but I feel like I need to call out Woo's dismissive responses in this post. If, instead of continuing to blame the customer on page 5, Mike posted a formal apology and offered a...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Not at all. John also happens to be a friend of mine and someone who has never had an issue with repair requests in the past. Not everyone wants to engage with the North American audiophile community.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Trollish as in paying for the repair quote immediately upon requested, sending in the headphones along with the amp as Mike requested, and not taking this public until Woo effectively made him persona non grata? This is a long while back but I have worked at a headphone store. I've been...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

That is the stupidest thing I have ever read in a post here. Of course he has buyer's remorse. He had an amp for a year and it developed problems and instead of diagnosing it and fixing it, Mike has somehow managed to blame every part of his chain and blocked his number. The least Woo can do is...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

But that's exactly what Woo did - prior to the post blowing up. Again, you can read the exchange in full on pages 1 and 2. Since John send his whole kit in and Woo is an Abyss retailer - shouldn't it be Woo's responsibility to fully diagnose the chain before coming up with repair quotes or chide...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

And why wasn't this discovered by Mike all the way back in early July, when Woo had both the amp and his Abyss cans on hand? Maybe his cans are broken. Maybe they aren't. But circling back to "oh it was the headphones all along!" after this post has blown up smells awfully like another attempt...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Read the exchange in full. Mike retroactively requested a repair charge, blamed OP for using a faulty cable, and tried to upsell a $300 cable to OP, and then blocked his number after OP pulled Drew into the exchange. I would not have been as patient or as reasonable as John. In fact, I'd...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Nonsense. You don't get to give a non response and blame the customer for being upset.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

I know the Woo guys too. That's why I'm upset that they decided to ghost a customer. On the one hand, John could have used something like "Disappointing customer experience with Woo". On the other hand, nothing incendiary about pointing out that a company which denies facts, gives misleading...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

That is a fair assessment. One way or another, the treatment that John has received is unacceptable and that's the point of this thread.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

It's relevant because it's either a valid design choice or Woo is covering up a design defect.

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

I linked a post to Anakchan confirming the lack of a 5th pole connection. While I don't think that Sony designed the Pentaconn on the WM1Z for line out, plenty of people use it for LO (and this was a setup that, IIRC, Abyss advertised as a portable solution for the Diana Phi). It's also not...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

Maybe, just maybe, if Sony, who came up with the standard, has seen fit to not implement the 5th pin in any of their DAPs, the design should take that into account instead of assuming that people will all use a (no offense to Lotoo) relatively obscure DAP...

Sharing my friend's poor experience with Woo Audio's customer service

At various times I have owned a WA22, two different WA5s, and a WA11 that I bought from you from the Canjam show floor. JohnZ is a friend of mine and I know that he has voiced his frustrations about the issue in private conversations before he went public with this Head-Fi post. I think that he...

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)

The different stores in Hong Kong have completely different product lines and some of them are much more interesting than others. Jaben HK is my favorite and I've been a customer literally since their opening day in 2008. They're the best Fitear distributor outside of Japan, and they do Sony...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

You need a stronger/better speaker amp. The K1000 is a lot more forgiving but the SR1a need a good amp or otherwise you're just hearing the flaws of the amp. Regarding the Mysphere, I can't hear bass distortions unless I crank the volume up to levels I would never listen at. I guess someone...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

@simorag Thanks for the review. I agree with most things. The only clarification I would make is if you want to listen at anything above 75db or so, you'll need a stronger amp than the AIC-10. At a (probably) more common evaluation volume of 95db, having 100w or more to allow the bass to fully...

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

Have you checked out FP Journe and Laurent Ferrier? I've been thinking about a 1815 for a while but recently I'm leaning towards one of the two, maybe a Chronometre Sovereign

Zenith is fun, I might pick up an entry-level tourbillon from them if I can find one at the right price. Have you though about checking out nearby, Hesperia-based watchmaker Devonworks? Might be nice to own something designed and built close to home :)
