    Best streaming service?

Best is YouTube Music, because it comes bundled in the cost of YouTube Premium. Once you have had YouTube premium you will not go back. (I mostly listen to FLAC local files, so don't require lossless for my streaming service, which is more about convenience in various use-case scenarios like...

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution

I'm using for exercise, so wouldn't want to use my good IEMs with this, but certainly considering this or their earhook BT adapter for non-exercise use. Anyways, I got the Senn TWS M2 because it was on sale for about $150 off, and unlike the other options is something I can walk into a store...

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution

I was hoping the B&W and M&D models wouldn't be tabled, going to be hard to get a hold of here. :/ MW07+ better for metal than the MW08? I suppose at this stage nobody able to comment on comparisons, looks like the MW08 only just starting to become available now. How are the Sennheiser TWS 2?

    Let's talk Bluetooth Speakers

So after seven years of good service my Loewe Speaker2Go is starting to become a little less reliable. It's not really the speakers fault so much as the fact that my partner frequently uses it for work and she is a little notorious for not looking after electronics. She has dropped phones in...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (0818 New FW Available, Update Info on Post #1)

So I got mine last week, finally got to use it this evening (after firmware update). I thought I would use the black cable supplied with the S1, however kept having connection issues (phone battery relatively low, could be part of it, although switching to the supplied white cable fixed it...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (0818 New FW Available, Update Info on Post #1)

Thanks for the impressions from those who have received theirs already (although my order shipped a little earlier than many, I'll be waiting till Monday here in New Zealand for mine). The side by side shots with the S1 were informative, for some reason I had thought it was quite a bit larger...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (0818 New FW Available, Update Info on Post #1)

Not mocking anyone, legitimately feel bad for people subbed to Tidal for whom MQA is important given the hassles.

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (0818 New FW Available, Update Info on Post #1)

I feel bad for all you folks stuck on MQA. Offers no particular benefit but creates such a hassle for purchasing gear.

    Shanling M30, M3X, VE 8 (Anniversary Design) now in stock! L&P W1 and W2 pre-order live!

Reassuring to hear, I pre-ordered the W2 from them yesterday and not previously purchased from them.

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (0818 New FW Available, Update Info on Post #1)

If you don't need the additional power then I would think there is very little, if any, audible difference. The W1 already measures superbly well.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Got these December last year, had a brief play, thought they sounded nice and promptly put them back in the case. Got the balanced 4.4 cable today, updated the Lotoo Paw S1 to new firmware and gave them another whirl. Wow, very enjoyable indeed. I'm not an IEM guy at all, prefer over ears, but...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

No, you can't add a 3.5mm jack in there. Get a good dongle and you'll be set with any Androids going forwards, only real option (well, I suppose LG handsets are an option, but looks like they're set to abandon their mobile business).

Lotoo PAW S1 - Designed for HIFI on the go with Lotoo PAW quality and the first USB DAC-AMP with dual 3.5mm & 4.4mm output

From an older firmware, from memory someone had asked him if he is able to repeat on current firmware.

Benchmark HPA4 Headphone / Line Amplifier Impressions

This is my view also. People talk about colourations adding excitement of emotion, but for me I'll take the clearest window into the music and it is the music that provides those things. Each to their own. I'm quite sure I will love the HPA4 when added to my system.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

The SR1a is a really special headphone, but I wouldn't rate it for metal (or anything that requires bass from about 80Hz down). Definitely one worth seeking out for a listen though.

    Learning to play guitar?

It's good to get lessons at first, agree. It's not a must, I didn't and I'm a fair guitar player, but luckily I didn't pick up bad habits and I practiced a lot in the past and have a perfectionist nature so I wouldn't settle for playing things sloppily. Certainly getting good habits from the...
