    Walnut Hi-Fi V2 WAV (& MP3) Player by wt - :ok_hand: screenless budget killer combo DAP/Amp :ok_hand:

That post doesn't show whether it will play 44.1 or will upsample to 48k (which in my experience doesn't sound good). Too bad it also won't play any hi res. Some people said it sounds good. I'd like to hear more impressions of usb sound quality.

    Walnut Hi-Fi V2 WAV (& MP3) Player by wt - :ok_hand: screenless budget killer combo DAP/Amp :ok_hand:

Can someone please explain (or send me a link) where the USB performance of the available players is described? What resolution files can be played through USB on the newer Walnut, and the Zishua Z1 or Z2 using windows? Thanks.

    Walnut Hi-Fi V2 WAV (& MP3) Player by wt - :ok_hand: screenless budget killer combo DAP/Amp :ok_hand:

Finally received my nut today, and it would not recognize my TF card (fat 32, clean mp3s or wavs) - just yellow light (not blinking).  Newer 32gb class 10 formatted Fat32.  Thought it was broken.  Finally tried a different TF card and it worked.   What does the "hold" switch do?

I'd like to try one of these Walnut Daps, but as mentioned they appear to be in short supply.  There is a company called Rose Electric on Aliexpress for about $33 usd delivered which seems the cheapest right now.  Is Rose reliable?  Anyone know when stocks will be replenished?

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?

Is there a way to tell the cromecast to play music from your network drive. For example, I imagine installing a foobar driver that would play through the cromecast?

FiiO's new Q1 portable DAC-amp: Let's drink to "Happy Listening"!

A couple of questions:   Using with usb windows foobar wasapi, windows volume still works. Should it be set to maximum? Is is better to use asio4all to bypass windows volume?   I can't seem to find a micro usb to micro usb otg cable. Are these available somewhere?

FiiO's new Q1 portable DAC-amp: Let's drink to "Happy Listening"!

The Sennheiser HD580, 600 and 650 all have the same 300 ohm impedance, and I think the amp in the q1 did a great job driving my 580s. I have no idea where the statement that the amp is only for iems came from, but it's wrong. The amp has a gain switch for hi and low impedance headphones.   I...

FiiO's new Q1 portable DAC-amp: Let's drink to "Happy Listening"!

I'm an idiot. By mistake I used a charge-only cable.  With a proper cable windows recognized it immediately.   I'm really impressed with the sound quality.  So far its dead-black quiet with the headphones I've tried, plenty of detail and very natural sounding, both through line in and as a USB...

    ECS Liva as audio server

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856501007   This seems like a great device for an audio server.  Completely silent pc, install foobar 2000, get a usb dac, and control foobar remotely.  Has anyone tried it?

Need T-amp advice for bookshelf speakers

Really like my pioneer bookshelfs (Andrew Jones).  Very inexpensive and excellent sounding.  I have the older series with the non-removable metal grills, but I've heard nothing but good things about the new ones as well.  By far best speakers in the price range.

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

Yea, szeros are much smaller, although heavy lil suckers for their size. But man do those pioneers sound good. That's why the zeros are sitting in the closet. Sent from my Nexus 7

Vincedea Wall mounting not a good idea since they are rear ported. Will you back able to compare them with the super zeros and using the two amps? Sent from my Nexus 7

Man, you sure change your mind a lot!   I have a pair of super zeros that I don't use anymore (sitting in a closet).  They are terrible without a sub, and just ok with one.  Very directional, and cold.  Speaker placement is extremely important.     In my opinion, the pioneers are a lot...

Vincedea, you should definitely wait, and make sure your credit card works! I love the little extra bass of the 41s,but think you'll love either. Sent from my Nexus 7

The 41s received great reviews in the audiophile press, but the big retailers like best buy didn't carry them. They were pretty hard to find, while the 21s were readily available. So I think it had more to do with retailer demand than acoustic merit. We all know that most people who buy low...

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

The Pioneer BS21s arrived today (paid $45 delivered), and I compared them with the BS41 (paid $80 delivered).  The 21s are not THAT much smaller - about an inch shorter, and identical shape and build quality, with an identical tweeter and a smaller woofer/mid.  Very similar sound.  Highs and...

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

I didn't say the bs41s were better than the tower version, I said that I suspect they are a lot better than the bs 21s without a sub because they are significantly larger and go significantly lower. There are certain fundamental frequencies that are common in music, and other frequencies that...

I suspect bs41 is a lot better without a sub. With a sub and receiver with bass management may be the same (I'm hoping). Will know more when they arrive. Sent from my Nexus 7

Lepai is cheaply built, but should sound good, and should be about the same with either speaker. I prefer the amp/usb dac combos because the sound coming out of most computers is bad, but for the price you can't beat it. Sent from my Nexus 7

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

A couple more thoughts after reading the questions again. You won't find a speaker the same size as the bs 21s with significantly better bass because it's physics. Low bass requires moving a lot of air, and that takes power and size. If you want really powerful low bass you need a big driver...

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

I think the bass response on the Pioneer bs41 is very good for music for a bookshelf speaker, and you get something that, in my opinion, no sub stat can provide - - great integration. I have a bookshelf sub system in my bedroom, and even with a receiver with bass management, you just don't get...

The Topping looks really nice, but not cheap. This $23 amp would be adequate, if you've got a decent signal. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=310-300 If you're going to get a sub later, you should probably get a receiver with sub support. I'm a fan of digital amps, but...

Goign for my first awesome speakers and amp setup for pc need suggestions

I've been following the Pioneer SP-BS41s since they came out.  I was using a nuforce ikon dac/pre/amp with a pair of Infinity P143 speakers, and it sounded fine, but I was never happy with it.  When the BS41s dropped to $85 delivered on closeout I jumped on them.  I have to say that I'm...

Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

After reading the reviews, I ran out and bought a pair of the Philips at a retail store for the grand sum of $15.  I have been comparing them for the past couple of hours to (1) some cheap Mee IEMs with in-line microphone,  (2) Sure E2c IEMs (old $100), (3) my big Audio Technica AD700s full size...
