[2021 Update] Venture Electronics (VE) Monk V2, Monk Plus & Monk Go: a $5 earbud that taking the world by storm!!!

Is there a comparison anywhere either on this thread or somewhere else on the head-fi portable forum that puts these Monk Plus Earbuds up against Blox's BE3 and M2C. I own both, but I'm waiting on the Monk + from Aliexpress and while waiting, I'm curious to know where the Monks are on the food...

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

The one thing I've found about the triple-fi's that still holds true is that they are very forgiving of lesser quality audio files. My understanding of the Noble line of IEM's, not so much so. Let's just say, for me, the triple-fi's are my comfortable old pair of shoes. I still think they...

Senn headphones ruined TF10 for me. Need IEM suggestions

i'll suggest another direction. As an owner of the triple-fi's with custom wires and using comply foams, i was very impressed with the new soundmagic e80's and how their balanced sound reminded me of the triple-fi's. Fit is better on the E80's as well. At $60, you might be pleasantly surprised...

    Sony's New 2014 flagship IEM - XBA Z5

Well, I got my Z5's in today. Spent only around 3 hours till now, but I'm already sold on them. Superb. You can just tell when something is just going to have synergy with the rest of your equipment. What took me by surprise was that the larger, harder silicone tips they came in the box are the...

    Sony's New 2014 flagship IEM - XBA Z5

That was incredibly helpful....thank you. Now that I know what to expect, I can be prepared for how the sound adjusts itself over burn in time. Probably one of the reasons I've held on to the triple-fi's is that they became like a comfortable old shoe and the dizzying options of high end...

    Sony's New 2014 flagship IEM - XBA Z5

I took the plunge on these Sony's giving my credit card another bruising thanks to head-fi. :o, and I noticed you have the fiio E12A down there as one of the portable amps used with them. I'm currently running a pair of UE triple-fi's with custom wires and comply foams with the fiio e12a, no...

High-End Earbuds (VE, Blox, SHOZY etc) and Earbud Gear Discussion & Impressions Thread

You weren't kidding. These E100's are pretty special. To think, I paid $13 and that included shipping. The bass is outstanding for an earbud. In comparison to the rest of the earbuds I have in my collection from least favorite to most favorite, the bells absolutely destroy the Tingo TG 38's...

High-End Earbuds (VE, Blox, SHOZY etc) and Earbud Gear Discussion & Impressions Thread

Thanks for all the info. I'll reply as soon as I've given them some burn in time. Reason I asked about the donuts vs foams was that I felt I was getting a better sound out of the Yuin pk1's and pk3's with the donut covers and a better sound out of Blox's M2C's and BE3's with the full pads, so it...

High-End Earbuds (VE, Blox, SHOZY etc) and Earbud Gear Discussion & Impressions Thread

I've got the BE3's and they are currently my favorite earbuds, but I also have the Mrice E100's on order. The difference is I won't be using them with an amp, although I could with an ibasso T5, but most of the time they'll work with a Sansa Clip running rockbox. My question is have you compared...

    Blox earbuds Discussion (TM7, M2C, ANV3, BE3/BE5/BE7, B160/B320)

Could you please elaborate on that, the differences I mean. Why, in your opinion, does the be3 stand out in comparison to the 5 and 7? Thanks

Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

Actually, for me, with the comply t-500 tips from my triple-fi's, the bass can be pretty strong and not in an over bloated way like they can be with the sennheiser cx300's. More of a wow, these $10 Philips can handle bass and sub-bass content without even breaking a sweat Looks like music101...

Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

Setting aside the amp, you ever think about putting the rockbox firmware on the sansa clip. You'll end up with a lot more ways to adjust the sound than through the stock firmware and also increase the volume output. I was originally using an ibasso T5 amp with the clip, then when I installed...

Best earphones (not in-ear) with a mic for talking on phone < £50

Based on that criteria, an earbud like blue ever blue's 328RM could be one option. It's cheap enough, comes with a MiC and sound quality is more than acceptable for phone use. Not bass monsters by any stretch (what ear bud is), but if you want something that allows him to hear the world around...

Philips SHE3580 IEM review--how can something sound so good for $10???

I figure most people won't get how good these are until they spend some EQ time looking for the sweet spot. A Sansa Clip + running the rockbox firmware and using comply foams are the reason I've now got 4 pairs of these....and at $9 each, who could blame me as these have to be up there as one of...

    Best Sounding "Disposable" Earbuds?

My recommendation....philips she3590 for $9 which I use with my Sansa Clip + running the Rockbox firmware. Great isolation, great bass and with the settings tweaked using the rockbox firmware and 25 hours of burn in; it's a real bargain. I've found they sound better with comply foams.

    Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

Just received a reply from blue ever blue confirming the $5 discount. If you go through customer service and just like you said mention head-fi, they'll send you a paypal invoice for their 328 RM's with a $5 discount. Thanks for that information.

    Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

Probably should have explained what I mean't by that. Basically, and bare with me on this as it could be all just psychological, but as I was burning in these tingo's, I found that to eliminate the shrill I was hearing in the vocals, I dialed back the treble in the rockbox settings to -4.5 and...

    Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

Okay, I'm about to eat humble pie here. In my defense, I spent way too little time with them to give anything remotely close to an accurate description. The lesson to be learned is it's better to hold off rather than make a rushed judgement.   After 36 hours and realizing the Sansa clip +...

    Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

To me, it's all about the sound source which affects how the Mids are perceived. I even threw my iphone into the mix running the BBE enhanced soundmax pro app with the dial settings for enhanced mids needing to be turned way up to balance the sound out so for me, so in my opinion I'm still...

    Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

Posted this originally in the wrong thread..   Got my TG-38S yesterday from Dasetn. Not going to overly judge them until I've gotten these broken in, but my first impressions are pretty close to BloodyPenguins. I remember not being bowled over with my Blox M2C's when I first got them, but...
