    Best Bluetooth Speakers in 2020

Ok, so the minirig addiction bites deeper. I received a week ago a pair of Minirig Mini 2's. I would say that they sound almost identical to the Minirig 3's at low to medium volumes. They go loud. Physics takes over inevitably above perhaps 80 decibels and they start to sound more shouty than...

    Best Bluetooth Speakers in 2020

If I was to choose, either sub or 2nd m3, i'd go for 2nd m3. The bass boost is nice, but not essential. I'd say the bass boost is nice for outside partying when a lot of bass gets carried away due to the space and wind factors. 2.1 outside, cranked up is quite amazing. Clear and loud!! Lots of...

Managed to find some mini-tripods to work as Minirig speaker stands. Really effective...

    Best Bluetooth Speakers in 2020

Santa was kind to me and I received a 2nd Minirig 3 + Sub3. What a great setup! Sounds nearly as good as a pair of Adam A5X or better in some circumstances. Shockingly good at times. In all honesty I could probably do without the sub. It's not as lacking without it as one might think. A nice...

    Best Bluetooth Speakers in 2020

Thanks for that. Am waiting for my 2nd M3 to arrive, Santa's bringing it, if I've been a good boy :) I'm sure the Cobalt's just as good. The mojo's fine, especially soundwise of course, but it's a bit cumbersome as a portable rig, and the battery's are especially bad. I've had the 2nd failure...

    Best Bluetooth Speakers in 2020

I use my Minirig 3 wired with Chord Mojo fed by Chromecast Audio and Roon to interface. Bliss. I can't get with the Bluetooth. I find I have much better control over volume in low gain mode with wired mode, primarily. Minirigs are a revelation. I've heard a lot of monitors, big and small, and...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Hi, thanks, yes I did yesterday and got a VERY quick response from Mr Wentzler. I didn't know Fiio had updated their patch for Play Store for the M11 and so he pointed me in the right direction. Now all is good and sorted! Happy user of UAPP on my M11 here now. Great service from Extream. :-)

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Any news on this? Does extream read this thread at all? I'm getting authentication errors if I try and use APK rip from my phone now :-( - very disappointing. Why make an update of UAPP which specifically offers support for a device and then not make the APK available for that device!???

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I am getting direct and correct bitrate on mine. Example below. I used MY APK to rip the APK off my phone. Version 4.4.1, from way back when I tried to side load it mid last year when I first got my M11.

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

I have been using the BTR5 now for a couple of months, and it's dawning on me just how much it's changed my portable usage. Previous flagships for my musing listening are now playing 2nd fiddle: X7ii is now currently quite redundant. My M11has been relegated to desktop DAC use with the...

[FiiO M11] Android 7.0, 2.5/3.5/4.4 Powerful Output, Exynos 7872, Dual AK4493 DAC chips, 3GB RAM, WiFi, Two-way LDAC

Am waiting for prices to drop. I use the 400gb cards and the price/space ratio is great. Am paying around 65chf for 400gb. It's just not viable to go for the 1tb yet at around 400chf per card. I'd want to see around 200chf before taking the plunge. Give it 6months, I reckon. Or quicker if a 2tb...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Interesting to hear about the HD800s - I have similar findings when comparing FH7:Beyerdynamic T1. IMO The FH7 give relatively speaking a "reference sound" which just is not in the remit of a lot of IEM purchasers when seeking. For me, it's bliss.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Good summary overall, but this part resonated with me completely. I've not sold my FH5's keeping them for backup, but certainly relegated to becoming "a curio from the past, picked up along the way to audio nirvana" :gs1000smile: The bit about standing head to head with full-sized cans too...

[FiiO M11] Android 7.0, 2.5/3.5/4.4 Powerful Output, Exynos 7872, Dual AK4493 DAC chips, 3GB RAM, WiFi, Two-way LDAC

It would really help if you could advise what you don't like about the genre sorting and open a discussion to try and work out a solution. To simply say "It sucks" cannot possibly result in any positive changes. If you have made specific recommendations in the past, then highlight these again...

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

I had read that you can go from balance to SO but not the other way. For whatever reason I have no idea.

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

Thanks. Not really getting the veil you mention when using it either in LDAC or USB mode with my PC and Roon. The BTR5 runs my Beyerdynamic T1s with aplomb and they're no slouches in the detail/resolution department. In fact Im using it as my main device for the moment, relegated the Mojo to...

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

Am not too bothered either to try much further with linking it to the V30 as my goal was to get a gr8 BT device which works well as a desktop portable/2nd option and the BTR5 checks the boxes. I will try to hook it up to my Note 8 and see if it encounters the same issues as I had with the V30...

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

Sorry I don't have a working 2.5mm balanced MMCX cable to use. My next investment will probably to get a good replacement cable for my FH7's. Out of $$$ at the moment :-(

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

thanks. Yes you can connect BTR5 as USB dac to phone, but for me, the native output from the V30 with UAPP is just fine :) with the same DAC-chip in the V30 as the BTR5. Oddly however, I had to fiddle about with some onboard menu setting to get sound out of the BTR5 in usb mode connected to the...

thanks for replies ref 4.4mm vs 2.5mm. I got my BTR5 on Friday, been messing with that since then, lol. Stellar little device doing great work as both USB dac and BT; gives me a much more even playing field with my phones now competing with daps for everyday listening. Will ponder on the balance...

[FiiO BTR5/FiiO BTR5 2021] Flagship Portable High-Fidelity Bluetooth Amplifier, Bluetooth chip CSR8675, support up to 384kHz&DSD256 native

Just spent the last 2 hrs doing some tests both in USB mode and BT mode. In USB mode comparing BTR5 with Mojo using Roon, ASIO modes for both. In BT mode, comparing LDAC with wired mode on LG VG30 Headphones/IEMs used: Beyerdynamic T1 and Fiio FH7 Music wise, been using 24/96 files, Redbook...

[FiiO M11] Android 7.0, 2.5/3.5/4.4 Powerful Output, Exynos 7872, Dual AK4493 DAC chips, 3GB RAM, WiFi, Two-way LDAC

hi. is there any difference between the 4.4mm and 2.5mm connections in terms of SQ of the M11? Am thinking of getting the BTR5 to upgrade my BTR3 and that's got a 2.5mm socket, my X7ii has 2.5mm too, so getting the Fiio LC 2.5mm upgrade cable seems to be a +ve upgrade for my FH7s, but wondering...

Talking of balanced, is there any difference between the 4.4mm and 2.5mm connections in terms of SQ (speaking of my M11 here)? Am thinking of getting the BTR5 to upgrade my BTR3 and that's got a 2.5mm socket, my X7ii has 2.5mm too, so getting a 2.5mm upgrade cable seems to be a +ve upgrade for...
