Reply to review by 'Cinder' on item 'Advanced Sound Furai'

@kukkurovaca The GT3SB technology has returned with the Furai, so yes, they share many tonal qualities. I suppose you could call the Furai a SB with increased treble quality, but that does sort of wipe away the improvements in overall tone and presentation that have been made with the Furai...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'Simgot EN700 Pro'

Simgot EN700 Pro Review: The Complete Package Simgot has long been a favorite brand of mine. After reviewing several of their older IEMs, I realized that Simgot’s engineers were genuinely talented, with a knack for developing well-designed IEMs. Today I am reviewing the EN700 Pro, the final and...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'xDuoo XP-2 Bluetooth & USB DAC/Amp'

Xduoo, while not a household brand in the English-speaking markets of the West, has built many compelling products that serve the audiophile-on-a-budget market for the past couple of years. Today I’m reviewing their XP-2 DAC/AMP Bluetooth receiver. Its got a plethora of features that give it...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'Whizzer A-HE03 Kylin'

Whizzer KYLIN A-HE03 Review: Great Build, Interesting Sonics My first contact with Whizzer, a Chinese earphone maker, was right after the release of their freshmen IEM, the A15. It’s stainless steel construction and tear-drop design made it a refreshing member of my review queue. Well, a lot has...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'Meeture MT3'

Simgot MT3 Review: Cheap, Simple, and Effective Simgot is a long-time favorite brand of mine. The EN700 was a solid IEM, especially for their first-ever product, and the EN700-Bass was such a big improvement to its older sibling that I gave it full marks. The MT3 is a more mainstream approach to...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'Auglamour F200'

Auglamour F200 Review: Metal on a Budget Ever since I saw the Auglamour R8, the company’s first mainstream IEM, I was captivated by its design language. A seamless blend of organic curves and hard edges made me wonder why I’d never heard of them before. The R8 kept it simple with a metal shell...

Review by 'Cinder' on item 'DEAT HIFI Small'

DEAT HIFI Small Review: Big Sound, Small Package Deat is a budget Chinese brand that I’ve never heard of. Review by 'Cinder' on item 'Symphonium Audio Aurora'

Symphonium Audio Aurora Review: Bitter Sweet Symphony Symphonium Audio is a fledgling audio brand emerging from Singapore. Meze Audio Empyrean Measurements

I've had a long-ish listening session with the Empyrian, twice, and I can say with absolute certainty: the Empyrian is not sharp, sibilant, or in any other way uncomfortable to listen to. It's an outstanding headphone, even pre-production.

@hqssui You are welcome! I figured the Cappuccino fans on Head-Fi would appreciate it! @earplug The Superbass's isolation, for me at least, is pretty darn good. The included foam eartips get the job done with aplomb.

Advanced Sound GT3 Experiences, Appreciation, and Review Thread

It's not strange at all. There are far more people who can afford to buy a $15 IEM than a $200. It follows naturally that those people will be more excited, and thus more willing to talk about, said IEM.

Announcing the Da Vinci Series IEMs

I was lucky enough to listen to the entire CTM lineup at RMAF. I have to say, I was blown away. I used two sources for my testing: a personal HiFiMAN SuperMini and their AK DAP. I listened to a large variety of songs on each IEM, ranging from Alive by Pearl Jam to 1993 by Approaching Nirvana. My...
