I am currently using the 1697 with the ARC53 upgrade cable. There is a detectable increase in mid-bass impact, also mids overall seems to be more detailed and forward, not much change in treble that I can hear. Though it is very thick, not that great for portable use.

Gonna wait for the tech to trickle down to cheaper models lol, looks cool af thou.

I would say so, with the holes open, there is a bit more treble energy, which is why the bass feels a bit less, and not sibilant. Overall, there is definitely less upper-mid/ treble peak and more bass impact whether the holes are open or not. Bass texture may not be as refined as acoustune but...

You can mod the CP500 by cutting off the stems of other cheaper and smaller tips (I use KZ starline), and insert them into the CP500's stem so they fit thinner stem IEMs.

Yeah, I'd say the price to performance ratio of the 1697 is pretty great, it performs better than some single DDs above $1000.
