Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
Heya folks, I've been thinking of getting into headphones after a long stint in IEMs - sigh, this site Anyhow, have had a read through this read over the past few days - thanks for all your impressions and comparisons! The 99 Classics look like a great place to start! So I'm...- enoyletoj

Fender IEM (Aurisonics) Impressions, Reviews & Discussions Thread
I've owned the FXA7 for 3 months now, so I figured I'd chime in to help those wondering if they should grab one. I must say that my experience has been quite different from the recent complaints. Mine pair has held up very well under quite significant usage (listening sessions on alternate...- enoyletoj

Fender IEM (Aurisonics) Impressions, Reviews & Discussions Thread
That really isn't the case at all. Through a strange turn of events, I happen to have both the Harmony (one nozzle broken) and FXA7 on hand. I can assure you that the FXA7's signature is pretty similar to the Harmony: the great mids, full bass remain, but (as was the intention with the...- enoyletoj

I'm not sure if this has been posted earlier but I just thought I'd share it if hasn't... BH photo has the Forte going at $399 249! The Harmony was going at $299 earlier but it sold out real quick. Fortes are still a great deal for anyone interested in picking one up- enoyletoj

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
Oops read that too quickly, my bad. Thought you'd bought both the M and the X-Batt. Glad to know that I'm in good & experienced company then! Nope, not that I recall. You can actually just use a small flat-head screwdriver - if its the correct size, and you apply the right pressure, it...- enoyletoj

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
Congrats! I'm rather late to the party, having just grabbed myself an M just over a month ago. Having tried many DAPs (like the AK120ii, P1, L5Pro, QP1R), I'd glad to report that M very much holds its own: it has a timbre and musicality like no other, staging & imaging is fantastic, and...- enoyletoj

New and Improved* Luxury & Precision L5 PRO 32bit DSD DAP with AKM AK4490, touch screen, rosewood blackplate
Woah, that's quite a claim. I've had my eye on the Onkyo DP-X1 and Fiio X7 for quite a while, but undeveloped firmware and UI are pushing me towards the L5Pro - not that the firmware in the L5Pro is much better, but at least it works well! Haha. Cleg - if you don't mind me asking...- enoyletoj

SONY NW-ZX100
Quote: I don't post very much - but I've been lurking around this thread wondering how the ZX100 compares to my (thick-sounding) ZX2... For those who want to take the plunge, Treoo in Singapore sells it for SGD$699 without the buds. That's a great deal if you intend to use your own...- enoyletoj

EarWerkz, a new CIEM company, discussion thread
Thanks mate - just sharing my thoughts and hoping to help anyone who's considering getting a pair. CIEMs are terribly expensive these days... Yep! Turned out quite abit clearer than I expected, but boy am I glad they did- enoyletoj

EarWerkz, a new CIEM company, discussion thread
Long time lurker here - but Jack & the Earwerkz team really deserve some recognition... First things first, Jack is positively the best Customer Service Officer I've communicated with in a decade. After having gone through JH (sigh), Heir, Westone... Jack's CS really stands out. Apart from...- enoyletoj

Quote: I'm not too sure myself, really. Would the 4.A be considered close to an end-game CIEM for its neutral sound signature? I.e. like the way the 8.A has been described by those who review it as 'the end' [for now] of the search for the bassy, warm but transparent & clear sound.- enoyletoj

Quote: Man I love how you started that off (in bold). Yeah, I guess it's unsurprising that the 4.Ai doesn't perform as well the 4.A - just think, the implications for the customs vs. universals debate would be disastrous heh. Then again, I doubt 4.Ai owners really know what they're...- enoyletoj

Quote: From my experience, the UE case fits CIEMs (in general) with TWag V2 and oyaide plugs perfectly, so they shouldn't have any problems with Heir customs too (: love that case. Anyhow, are any fortunate folk lucky enough to own both the 4.A and 8.A able to shed light on...- enoyletoj

Quote: I feel the exact same way every time I stick them into my ears. The expansive atmosphere that they create with live recordings, even with bad recordings... I honestly have not found it elsewhere, not even in my current JH11s/other demo CIEMs (which isn't that fair a comparison)...- enoyletoj

Shure se215 vs other
Frankly dude, if you're deaf in one ear you'd be better off posting a WTB classified for one side - it'd save you a helluva lotta money. Normally single-sides go for a fraction of the original price.. Also, for IEMS like the se215/um1/W1, wearing em non over-ear is kinda... hard. Not...- enoyletoj

Customs or Universal IEMs for a Music Enthusiast ?
Quote: +1 for the JH5. IMO for the price you're paying the JH5 is a bloody steal. Spectacular comfort, isolation and sound - they do have a bass hump like most JH IEMs though, but it doesn't muddy the mids/highs or anything. And if you're quick enough JH Audio is having a 15% sale now...- enoyletoj
