We've had the chance to try the SR1a using Vidar & Aegir monoblocks - specification-wise, the Vidar does 400W/8ohm, while the Aegir does 80W/8ohm in monoblock configuration. Aegir works fine if you're not listening at really loud volumes, although we got it to clip when we cranked it up a bit...

If you like the single Vidar, quite sure you'll like the dual Vidar monoblocks even more. We've already been there, done that!

really, it wasn't used. it was switched on, but not connected to the R6 Pro - we used the line-out from the R6 Pro instead, because it was much easier that way. the USB type-C output from the R6 Pro comes out from the bottom of the player, which made things difficult viz-a-viz the short USB...

the Yggdrasil wasn't used - we were feeding the analog line-out from a Hiby R6 Pro to the Bryston B135 SST2 integrated amp.

For the Vidar, we'll just be feeding it directly with a good portable player - the idea is to show how easy (and inexpensive) it is to get great sound on the SR1a. You really don't need to break the bank to step up to amazing sound from the SR1a
