Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Seems like in this bank, the clock is ticking quickly down. Do you have options in employment, other jobs, retraining? I hope you are able to make lemonade from lemons.- bagwell359

Which aspect? Dress code? Hours? Reporting to idiots? Back stabbing? Don't have your standards swept away or undermined - so that later, it morphs into a life lesson, and you go on as yourself.- bagwell359

He was dumping rightfully so on the early models, Chevy fixed it up quite nicely later and it croaked the Vega or Pinto. There is a guy here in town with the Greenbrier Corvair van: quite rare.- bagwell359

Even though I don't do vinyl anymore, I did really like the way some of mine looked: Oracle Delphi II circa 1984 (had a FR 64 and JVC UA-7045 arms on it, w/ MC, not what's pictured) Souther SLA-3 on VPI Mk IV (mine had the protective acrylic cover over the arm, and much thinner less...- bagwell359

Pacer was nimble compared too: My father had a '56 Buick Roadmaster - the top of the line then: 4,395 lbs, never drove it, but it was a tank. It was the same color scheme as the pic. For about 2 weeks in 1974 I owned a '62 Olds 98 4 door - curb weight 4,630, leaky master cylinder, rust, bad...- bagwell359

Southie started gentrifying later than Somerville, but, the prices are wild. Lawrence wrote for and produced "West Wing", legislative aide for Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and his MSNBC gig, wrote a book or two as well. Lovely. Well, it is pronounced "Summerville". Bostonians do have some weird takes on vowel sounds. I hate to hear myself on tape, I sound like some Allston/Brighton High School dropout (no offense).- bagwell359

Never used winter tires except my GTX which was necessary for sure, since then regular or all season. Yup tailgating, speeding, and overly violent reactions to skids is what gets you in trouble. Downshifting (yes with an automatic too), and damped reactions to emergencies, and space is what...- bagwell359

Summerville? You must mean Somerville. Back in 1972 you could buy a triple decker in Somerville for $30k, now its about $1.5M. It's one of the most sought after places in the Boston area - sort of the "affordable" spillover from Cambridge. It was a blue collar city with guys drinking on the...- bagwell359

Rag 1. There is no way I will understand the choice of those dinky little feet on that amp. Not a problem on the Rag 2 (although I still changed the feet to my custom Duro 70 washer Sorb/stainless fender washer triple decker. However on the 1, on a solid shelf its got to be up at least another...- bagwell359

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
The Smoot-Hawley Tariffs which was a politically driven Act in 1930 had a huge hand in deepening and extending the Depression. I didn't see it mentioned in that piece. As for gold, domestically the gold standard was ended (nationalized) in 1933, but from 1944 (Bretton Woods) until 1971 the...- bagwell359

It was better (according to me and others) than the Yggy A1. I ran it against the Musician Pegasus II ($1100) about 6 months ago, and my Gungnir A1 was a bit better (depth/focus). The K11 gets good reviews... so, try and listen to both if you can.- bagwell359

Never made it to his digs in London, but I used to get the fan magazines and the Graphic comic series from the mid 80’s. My dream is to go to Portmeirion Wales to see the village. They used to do a long weekend there for fans but I’m not sure if that’s still going on. Cardiff is the closest...- bagwell359

Those headbands stink. Many up/side grade. I've owned I think its 13 diff HFM's and besides the one I got that was about 3 days from a trash barrel and a little flaking of pleather on one that was 6 years old - they have all been fine including one made in 2009 and another in 2012.- bagwell359
