DAC / AMP suggestion for Sennheiser HD250 Linear 1. (600 Ohm)
Do you need a combo or will separate units do? Here are some nice separate units: Project Ember or any Garage1217 offering + Nobsound TdA1387 Bravo Ocean + Schiit Modi Multibit- techboy

Most powerful headphone amp?
If all you’re looking for crazy volume: You need to look at gain and not just output power. Bravo Ocean has 30 dB gain. Never heard anything louder. I don’t think the Beta22 comes close in terms of sheer volume. I’ve heard both. Project Ember 1 (not 2.1) is crazy loud too. A tad less than...- techboy

Headphones that sound like Sennheiser HE90 Orpheus?
Have never heard the Orpheus. But from reading other comments, it seems you’re looking for a neutral headphone (because the Orpheus probably sounds very neutral). The most neutral headphone I’ve heard is Verum. However, the timbre isn’t natural. The most neutral dynamic headphone I’ve heard is...- techboy

Project Ember Tube Rolling
Could be defective tube(S), adapter(S). This is unrelated to jumpers etc. If it doesn’t sound right, all you can do is try different tube(S)/adapted(S), that’s it.- techboy

Tube Headphone Amps with Preamp Functionality
Project Ember by Garage1217.com is perfect for you. Others have used it with LCD 2 and it has great synergy. It also has a volume controlled pre and is an amp powerful enough for everything including HE6, K1000, AKG K340, etc. It also costs just shy of 400 bucks. And works really well with both...- techboy

One can to rule them all: Looking for $1k replacement for my mid-fi cans
You’ll get much better results upgrading your chain. HD 650/600 can scale like no other headphone known to mankind. Especially HD 650. Get a Bottlehead Crack with Speedball + Modi Multibit. You’ll be done for a while. When you come back with a USD 3000+ budget upgrade next time, buy a Gungnir...- techboy

Darkvoice 336 se vs Garage1217 hybrid amps.
Do note tubes play a big role. I rolled many in the ember but none in the DV I think. Keep that in mind. However, for anything other than high impedance dynamics Ember should be better for sure. For high impedance dynamics it might come down to personal preference.- techboy

Darkvoice 336 se vs Garage1217 hybrid amps.
Ember and Polaris should both be better overall and also for planars. Ask technical questions to Frans/solderdude at DIYAH.boards.net. He is the designer.- techboy

Darkvoice 336 se vs Garage1217 hybrid amps.
Much better than your DV. DV is only meant for high impedance dynamic cans like 650 and I still preferred the Ember with them. For everything else Ember is better anyway. However, sound is subjective and both amps sound very different, so YMMV. I preferred the Ember. But you may or may not...- techboy

Darkvoice 336 se vs Garage1217 hybrid amps.
Ember Sweeter, wetter, lusher, cleaner, faster, clearer Better treble extension and tighter bass/sound overall. Much sweeter midrange and vocals but relatively hollow vocals Sounds brighter and more lively. Closer to SS than to DV but much better than any SS I heard due to its sweetness and...- techboy

Sennheiser HD 660s with bigger soundstage?
Your AMP/DAC plays a huge role in the soundstage. A HD 650 with an OTL amp like DV 336 SE might have a much bigger soundstage than your 660S setup even though 660S might have a bigger Soundstage than 650 when using the same common solid stage or hybrid tube amp.- techboy
