If you’ve ever want to run speakers off the same source as your headphones, the Rag excels. And you’d be surprised how much of the volume knob you use with the HE6 when you add a 10db bass shelf and drop the gain accordingly.

If you have the desk/rack space, a $999 Schiit Ragnarok 2 “just an amp” will drive the HE6SEV2 to the moon.

I've spent three+ months living with the E3 now. Sources are Rega P6/Ania/Aria and Bifrost 2/64 through Ragnarok 2. I have mid range and high-end open backed headphones... HD-6XX, HE-6 LP 4-screw, Susvara... but more often than not I reach for the E3. It's a perfect combination of comfort...

If you’re taking about the hex grid on the cup, that’s a design printed on the gorilla glass. There is no mesh. Also which screws? The pair of holes on the cups are bass ports, not screws. I do think they look better in person than in photos

Yeah, you can still run subs, but they will need have a speaker level input to take the output from the speaker taps. One thing you don't get that way is a crossover removing the low frequency from your mains. I'm running a pair of LS50 Meta with a pair of Rythmik F12s with speaker level input...

If you need an amp that will give E3 all the power it needs, Schiit has the Ragnarok 2 for sale for $999. Crazy price for that much power. I use mine to drive speakers, E3, HE6, Susvara... really everything but IEMs or super sensitive headphones. For example B&O H6 gets a lot of noise.
