Bowers & Wilkins PI7
Even better idea: Get an old LG G7 phone. It has a decent ESS DAC/amp built in (better than most cheap DAPs), flawlessly supports AptX HD and has a very good bluetooth range. Plus, it's a smartphone. So you can actually run apps like Spotify and Tidal decently on it.- Asspirin

It's noticeable, but fine for me. Different people have different sensitivities in the treble range. Mine is around 8khz. Everything from 10khz is fine for me, which is the reason I really don't mind the infamous Beyerdynamic treble, but cannot stand most asian-style-tuned IEMs- Asspirin

Cleaning your ears too often/rough/thoroughly will irritate your ear canals and cause swelling. Be gentle to yourself :)- Asspirin

Exactly. When moving around or doing sports, microphonics and environment will drown out any bass on neutrally tuned IEMs. You absolutely need a healthy bass boost when being out and about and actually want to enjoy the music you're listening to. Neutral is for critical listening at home.- Asspirin

Review by 'Asspirin' on item 'Etymotic EVO'
Etymotic have always been known as "reference" in any way imaginable. Their IEMs have not only been a reference for price-performance-ratio, but the tuning or sound of their products has always been very close to what professionals and connoisseurs call "studio reference". And now I have a...- Asspirin

Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread
I've only had half an hour with these, but I was utterly unimpressed. They sound decently spacious for closed-backs with a surprising amount of stage height. Bass was shockingly average and had a tendency of becoming a one-note blob. Midrange tonality was completely off, at least for my taste...- Asspirin

I've never heard the AT models, but the Z1R get their ass handed to them by most 500$-ish headphones.- Asspirin

Man @OspreyAndy you're a quick one! Good work, though. Unfortunately, I won't finish my review (and continue the tour) before next week. My work schedule is hell this week. Meanwhile, here's a nice photo :)- Asspirin

This. And several measurements prove that. They have a pretty downslope signature with strong bass, voluminous and warm mids and soft, almost recessed treble. It would take a lot of modding to make them sound v-shaped.- Asspirin

Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions
The only difference I can hear between 320 and flac is high frequency stuff, like cymbals and staging/imaging. The difference is very minor, though. I just recently have Tidal another chance, but I'd rather sacrifice the 1% loss in sound quality in exchange for the superior curated content and...- Asspirin

Musical, dynamic and rhythmic don't tell you anything about how these buds actually sound. In fact, these are just fluff-words words you'll find in 99% of the reviews out there. Most "reviewers" actually don't know what they're writing about. I'm even having a wild theory in my head that most...- Asspirin

I've seen the first graphs of the XM4 and they look very different from the XM3. Upper mids and treble are completely gone and I'm assuming they'll sound very dark and bassy. You'll have to pry the XM3 from my cold dead hands, it seems. Back to topic: I agree with @Uebelkraehe that the PI7 can...- Asspirin

That's a good thing, IMO. Unboxing is the least interesting part in every review and a original box just causes trouble when it has to go through customs :)- Asspirin

Bluetooth has always been a buggy affair and always will be, it's not necessarily a certain device's fault. Have you tried deleting all saved device's from your Bluetooth connections list on your V60 and start the pairing process anew?- Asspirin

The PI7 arrived. Here are my first impressions. Tuning: The PI7 have a relaxed v-shape signature, much like their bigger siblings PX7. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but personally, I like it. Noise cancelling: There is a distinct difference between ANC on and off. If you switch it on, bass...- Asspirin

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Spinfit and Angies are a no-no. You need tips that go all the way down, so that the end of the stem sits flush with the opening of the tip. And it took me quite a while to put this sentence together without making it sound too weird 🤣- Asspirin

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
I bought the PX7 when it came out and have been using it regularly, but not daily. No signs of wear so far and no structural issues. B&W are still the benchmark for build quality. I don't have any detectable latency with any of my devices, so I wouldn't bother. The choice of replacing genuine...- Asspirin
