    Sennheiser x Massdrop PC37X Review & Discussion

I guess in some ways that's why a modmic is better than a headset because it has it's own dedicated ground. I can't be the only one that does this. I guess my other option is a small USB sound card for the Mic input. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R33VWW I ordered the PC37X, the Sabrent...

    Denver Spring Meet 2017 - May 20th

I have a few things I am going to bring but nothing exciting. I will add it to the google doc though. I am really hoping someone has some Oppo PM3's and someFostex TH-X00 that I can check out. Looking to buy one or the other for my work cans.

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

If I find a good deal on them used I might pick them up. $420 is a lot. I usually limit myself to spending no more than $200 on a pair of headphones. I have gotten all of the headphones I own for that or less and that's what I am picking up the 400i's for tomorrow. We'll see how they are.

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

I don't really like the 598's all that well for gaming either. They are acceptable but not great. The 650's are unusable for gaming due to their slowness and generally fat sound. Stuff gets blurred together and the drivers seem to get lost in all of the different sounds. I have never heard...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

Question for you guys.... I currently have a HD650 for music and an HD598 for gaming. I am looking for a headphone that can do it all as switching back and forth is getting annoying.... Are the 400i's the answer? I found a pair locally for $200 so I figure they are worth it if I can just use one...

    LG V20 Sound Quality

YES! Got my HiFi Man RE-00's today! They sound fantastic with the V20.... I like neutral sound and these guys are perfect! I actually feel like they are a tad bass heavy. I can confirm that the RE-00's do indeed kick the V20 into high impedance mode and the RE-00's seem to love it! Not too sad I...

    LG V20 Sound Quality

How do the HifiMan Mass Drop RE00 IEM's pair with the V20? Any one have experience with them? I normally hate IEM's but I found out I am getting a pair for christmas so I guess I am going to be giving them a shot. The last IEM's I tried were the rockit sounds R50 which sounded absolutely down...

    LG V20 Sound Quality

It's interesting that you say this because I just tired the same thing and this is exactly how I felt doing A to B comparisons between the V20 and my Modi 2 Multi/Magni 2 Uber stack. I felt as though the V20 sounded a bit more musical and had a maybe ever so slight mid bump but was less detailed...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

Correct. So in the way of a microphone or at least a condenser microphone... All headset mics are mineature condenser mics btw.... The more constant voltage you put to it the more sensitive it is... So the more it picks up. When you adjust the microphone volume slider you are boosting input...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

Well putting constant voltage to headphones is not something that you would want to do so I would assume they have a way to turn off the constant voltage when you plug in headphones. Most likely a switching circuit of some kind that detects if a mic or a headphone is plugged in based on the...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

The mic voltage has nothing to do with the sound quality output of the unit itself or driving headphones or anything related. I am not concerned with that. In fact I am sure it is fine for my headphones sound quality and sound output wise. What I am concerned with is that most creative devices I...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

Actually if you have the E1 would you mind testing it for me? I guess I haven't tested a Creative USB card yet. If you have a 1/8 in Male to Male TRS cable and a volt meter plug the cable into the microphone input jack and test the voltage you get between the ring and sleeve.

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

Well either way as I stated before creative cards don't put out enough voltage to the microphone and the mic input sounds like crap so I won't be getting a creative card.

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

That's kind of why I asked for a DAC not a Sound card... Don't really want all of the BS... Just a good dac/amp with a mic in. I would even prefer that it didn't have any 3rd party software.

As far as sound isolation what else have you compared to the Game Zeros? I have quite a few closed back headphones and I haven't seen much of a difference in isolation.. The Gzeros seem about the same as every other closed back headphone I have tried.

Review by 'killeraxemannic' on item 'Sennheiser G4ME ZERO Over-Ear Gaming Headset'

I made a huge mistake when I got these.... First thing I did was plug them into my phone and try to listen to some music... Bad idea! This is one of those headphones that I wouldn't even listen to until after 50 or so hours of burn in. The sound signature of these is specifically designed for...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

Creative sound cards put out less voltage to the microphone than other sound card brands. For my specific headset this doesn't work well and the mic sounds like crap.

Review by 'killeraxemannic' on item 'Sennheiser G4ME ONE Over-Ear Gaming Headset'

I tired these for a while as a friend owns them. I have the Game Zeros and I actually like those a bit better than these. These game ones sound closest to my HD555's for gaming. They have a fairly flat and neutral sound with a decent little bass hump that makes explosions sound good in games...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

I have found a few. I was eying the Syba Sonic SD-DAC63057 but I am not sure how good it could really be compared to my current Centrance Dacport Slim that I use for work currently. Don't want a massive downgrade in SQ just for the Mic in. I wish my work laptop just had a microphone jack and...

USB DAC/Amp with mic input jack?

I am looking for a good quality DAC/Amp that has a mic input jack for my work laptop as it doesn't have one. I am very short on USB ports already so I don't want to get a separate card for the mic. Does anyone know of anything out there that is decent? Lets skip Creative. Not a fan

Trying to get the best microphone input quality on my PC for my Sennheiser Game Zero headset microphone. 24 bit and no white noise.

So this is fun. Let's add more fun to this... So I was inspired by a video I saw on youtube of a guy using a volt meter to test the voltage output of various USB sound cards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuLABU6tI7Q   He seemed to think that the more voltage the better for his condenser mic...

Trying to get the best microphone input quality on my PC for my Sennheiser Game Zero headset microphone. 24 bit and no white noise.

Yes I have tried that, changing PCIE slots, as well as turning on CPU spread spectrum in the bios.... That is also supposed to sometimes kill nose. Neither have any noticable effect.

Trying to get the best microphone input quality on my PC for my Sennheiser Game Zero headset microphone. 24 bit and no white noise.

I am trying to figure this out and I am pulling my hair out... Is it really this hard?    I hate the fact that when I am chatting with people on my computer the audio quality sucks. You either have people with massive background noise, Too low of volume, distorted sound, robotic noise...

I can't seem to find a closed headphone that I like. Need help!

Absolutely no IEM's. Has to be closed back and over ear. I have tried the IEM thing in the past and hate things in my ears. I have also made my ears ring with IEM's from accidentally listening to them too loud.
