Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Well, part of me wants to say: You're looking for a $199 iem to have the same sound quality as the K10? Ha ha, there are threads full of people lying to each other about super-hyped $25 iems! (and I would avoid each and every one of those garbage hyped iems) But, seriously, it's an excellent...

I think I'll make the Bell my sole iem for a week or two. It's good.

Not to interrupt the bowling gifs, but further listening and I can say the Noble Bell is a solid DD iem for $199. Recommended.

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Listened to the Bell this morning, after a little burn-in (why not?). A bit brighter, the bass seemed a little more controlled than the velvet for a more balanced version of the sound. I do like the metallic shells. Overall, first impressions are good!

The Velvet is in and they sound great. My first thought on the morning commute was that these would make a great gift! Not the pair I have, those are mine, but another pair!

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

One of the strengths of the ie800/ie800S is the treble extension.

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

The ie800 are probably the most stealth high-end iem. They really look like cheap earphones when in-ear. That's a very good thing.

Yeah, I picked those up for her a while back, after she heard the whole JH and UE lines at the audiologist and chose the 16. A bit of a latent basshead.

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

I had a friend listen to the ie800 and ie800S for a few hours and give her non-audiophile take on things, because sometimes audiophiles have to do a bunch of billing/receipts/etc. on a Sunday and having a friend nearby helps. First, the ie800S' cable seems a lot less likely to do that...

    The Official Sennheiser IE800S thread!

Having exercised the driver at high volume a little, I've done some initial listening. The ie800S are highly pleasant so far. I need to directly compare to my ie800, but they seem to be a smoothed version with a cable that likely won't harden and can reach your pocket easily.

Wrong! They have in-house movements now, and very good ones. Actually, you are also wrong about the older Tudors as well, since the highest-grade ETA ebauches were extensively reworked by Tudor. We are not talking stamping the rotor with a brand name and calling it a day, here. The Grand Prix...

A Headphone Measurement Discussion (That Started In The IE800S Thread)

Great post, Jude. You've expressed both what I want to see from further refinements in measurements, as well as what I am concerned about in terms of hobbyists' understanding the limitations of various measurement rigs.

@Brooko I certainly never said that whoever had the most $$$$ was the best, that's all you. I did thank Jude and I mentioned his experience. Are you questioning that? People have a tendency to believe whatever they see in the form of a graph and whatever comes from an apparatus, regardless of...
