Where do you get your BeyerDynamic's at?

I already have a set of these, easily the best cans in their class to me ($299 from some seller Amazon) and was looking to go cheap when I saw B&H Photo had them on sale for $269, but I got a well used, possibly abused pair. Anyone watch Hawaii 5.0? These headphones may have belonged to...

Between T70p and Sennheiser 380 Pro middle ground?

Getting to be less of a n00b now and have a specific need. My sources are Laptop (X-Fi), iPod Touch, and my files are Apple Lossless or m4a format... anyways...   I've got the Sennheiser HD-380 Pro which I dig a lot. It has a veiled sound, good sub bass, fairly forgiving, etc. Recently...

    Cowon J3 or iPod Classic

Quote: So if I could pin you down on this, your saying that ignoring the EQ settings and leaving them on "normal" the Ipod Classic is better than the J3 for sound quality? Could you go more in depth on this? Are we talking about an overall warmer or more neutral reproduction of the music...

Cowon mp3 players vs Sumsung Galaxy and iPod

OK, so fast forward to now and I have a Cowon J3 because...   a) I am not going months on Ibasso, I don't want buttons like HiFiMan or Colorify. b) Every review everywhere raves on this thing, felt like a safe buy. c) I love the OS, I know some hate it, but I can fly song to song! d)...

Zen Touch, X-Fi, Cowon J3, and my computer.

Quote:   OK I just want to recant all of this. I needed more time and should not have posted yet. The Cowon J3 is an amazing mp3 player. After only a day of use I can navigate through this device faster than any iPod or mini tablet. It does sound amazing and has no hiss with my Shure...

Shure se535 hiss is killing me, better on theh se215?

Ah, OK, thanks guys I appreciate it. Still working through things, but yes I do love the sound of the Shure se535's. I mean they are like the perfectly eq'd IEM to my ears, they do nothing wrong, except hiss and that is really my problem, not theirs.   I got a Cowon J3 and things are a...

Sennheiser HD 380 Pro cable options

I ended up keeping them. They are my favorite headphones. I bought many others in the $500 and under range, but returned them all. For my needs and sources (laptop, samsung tablet) these can't be beat. I love their sound, so I just deal with the cable.   I briefly had a pair of Beyerdynamic...

Zen Touch, X-Fi, Cowon J3, and my computer.

OK so I have my J3 Cowon now and I hope I don't get hate because of this, but I am not impressed. Yes the BBE settings can make it sound amazing, but the music is more fake sounding to me then. I have nice headphones so I just need a good source. The sound coming out of my computer with sound...

Shure se535 hiss is killing me, better on theh se215?

Well it seems it is indeed my source. So I guess now is that hard question. I like the feel of the Shure / Westone style IEMs, but I need something for on the go with my Galaxy S. I was thinking maybe the Westone 1 would have the least hiss?    I tested the se535's with my laptop and the...

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

Quote: Very cool! I have been reading reviews of these all morning. Sometimes I wish I could not see what I was reviewing because I was leaning towards the AKG K550 by what you and others wrote... then... I saw them. Holy $%^# do they look cool?! Haha! To quote my wife, "It looks like he is...

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

How are you doing these awesome graphs? I would like to learn. It would be cool to see the DT-1350 vs the T70

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

Sweet, thanks for the graph, makes a lot of sense. With the risk of being off topic, have you gotten to try the T70p? Big price jump, but I've heard many different stories about it from perfectly balanced to spiky treble. I figure source and frankly how deaf someone has become could account for...

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

Quote:   Ah, that makes sense, thank you! I've heard people remark that the DT770 is slightly bass and treble boosted. Perhaps the change from semi open to closed is the reason for this? I was thinking the bass and treble would have no change to escape thus either a real or perceived...

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

Also, I apolgize if my post is "stupid" as after I posted it I was just thinking that the open air aspect is quite likely to influence the sound, but hopefully you guys get what I am looking for. As similar as possible, but somewhat isolating like a Senny HD 380 Pro, etc.

    Beyerdynamic DT-880, but closed?

So I got in my Beyerdynamic DT-880, which I was really worried about as it is expensive and my first "open air" set of cans. I love the sound. So very neutral. It reminds me of my DT-1350, but there is of course no isolation. I knew that before I bought it, so no worries. My question is does...

    n00b review lite

Nah, JK, haven't tried any of those, in an update my Shure se535 came in and holy crap!! Have you ever put on a set of headphones and said out loud, "These are perfect?!" with both excitement and surprise in your voice? Me either... until now! I know the price is beyond stupid, but they're...

IEM with a flat EQ with slightly rolled off highs?

Hmmm before I plunk down the cash on these Shure se425's, has anyone used the se315's? By the freq specs (although I can't find a graph showing this) it looks like they would have less treble than the se425's and also less thumpy bass than the se215. Hopefully someone has had these in their ears? :)

IEM with a flat EQ with slightly rolled off highs?

I really wanted to thank everyone so much for helping me out here. Looks like the Shure se425's are the way to go. I researched every single IEM you guys recommended (hence my delayed thank you post) and I found one really helpful site showing a freq graph of the Shure se215 vs se425 which...

IEM with a flat EQ with slightly rolled off highs?

    V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews

I've read enough to know that I would love the V-Moda M-80, but what I really want is an over the ear headphone. I like the feel of those so much better and the only thing I see from V-Moda is the LP and LP2 which everyone clearly shouts as, "not a circumarual verion of the M-80" and not as good...

    Over the ear Beyer DT-1350?

Sorry, I'll be more specific. I owned a Sennheiser HD 25 Adidas Original and HD 380 Pro. I will use those to compare. My DT-1350's aren't fully burned in, but yes, loving the sound, and expecting even more as they continue to be burned in. I love everything about them, I just prefer the feel of...

    Over the ear Beyer DT-1350?

So my DT-1350's arrived and I really like these a lot. Is there a full size, over the ear, version of this great on-ear can?? I keep looking through Beyerdynamics site, but I'm still sort of a n00b I'm afraid. Any help would be great.
