Reply to review by 'earfonia' on item 'Stax SRS-3100'

@GrilledSalmon, I don't have much experience with electrostatic headphones, but the SRM-3100 is faster than R70x, more realistic and transparent, but not for fast bass punch. So for large dynamic like bass slam, SRM-3100 is not better than R70x, but for micro dynamic, like strings pizzicato...

@dw1narso the SRS-3100 is not a detail oriented system either. But when paired with detailed sounding sources, the pair sounds realistically musical, with very good detail but presented naturally, not in analytical way. There is some effortless characteristic I could hear from SRS-3100, but...

@MLGrado, Looking forward to your review! The initial silence is short on my micro iDSD, but a bit longer on micro iDSD BL that starts to get me annoyed. Hope I could find the right setting with foobar to get rid of it.

Thanks guys! @cladane, yes Odin is euphonic, and due to the smooth sounding treble and balanced bass, can be rather mid-centric for some recordings. But with most recordings I used in this review, it sounds quite balanced to my ears.

Reply to review by 'earfonia' on item 'HIFIMAN SuperMini High-Res Portable Player'

@twister6 sorry late reply Alex! Initially I was considering to review the MegaMini, but the hiss noise with my 1964 V3 and the slightly lacking extension on the sub-bass and treble parts, also problems with some of my large capacity mSD cards, make me decided not to review them. Honestly, I...

Awesome review! Really a good read, Thanks! I like especially the history parts in the beginning. Also it is good to check how multi drivers IEM affected by amp output impedance, not many reviewers do that. I'm still using the old 1964 Ears V3 (universal fit), one of my favorite IEM. Not sure...
