Anyone still using the VALOQ player?

Been using it for long since release... what bothers me is that the USB-DAC feature never come true! Do the battery of yours still functioning well? Despite these I still like the sound a lot (with MUSE02 Opamp) though :)

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

I found the KSE1500 sound very boring to me when pairing with neutral sounding device, like HUGO, X7,Paw Gold, etc. The only combo attracted me is my Venturecraft VALOQ + KSE1500 which makes me want to sell my Heir Audio 10.a & Hugo

Metrum Acoustics Musette NOS R-2R DAC (2015) Discussion thread

I am a pavane user and today I tried the musette. To me the musette sound just like the pavane in terms of sound signature. It sounds real, like the real people and musical instrument in front of you, very musical, while the soundstage is noticeably smaller then the pavane and the micro details...

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions

Am I asking too much for it to compare with the Chord Hugo? My desk in my room only has a small space for a dac, I like the dac part of hugo but the headphone amp part sounds a bit too powerful for my IEM. I see that the m9xx has a low gain output. Sounds nice but I wonder hows the dac SQ...

    Metrum Pavane

I agree that this is very personal but for R2R dac I do think the price shows the quality. I have tried many R2R dac from schiit YGG, Pavane to Rockna, totaldac, and MSB. The more expensive one always sounds better to my ear.

    Metrum Pavane

Too less people out there own a pavane.

    Metrum Pavane

Vivid means I feel like the sound from the totaldac is more colorful. Just a feeling. And yes the tatoldac d1-dual is a bit better. Pavane is awesome but still not good enough to defeat something that almost triple times more expensive.

    Metrum Pavane

To me the totaldac has a more vivid sounding, slightly less bass and a richer mid range. The tone is quite different. But the depth of the soundstage of totaldac is a little bit better than Pavane.

    Metrum Pavane

I don't really think the micro details will lost in good designed Delta-Simga chips DAC, I will say those details don't sound as real as a R2R one.

    Metrum Pavane

still I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but to me the Pavane does dig out some very small sound details that I haven't heard before.

    Metrum Pavane

you mean for the whole song or just a part of it? I don't really hear buzz noise. Maybe you are talking about those extremely weak sound of the piano player stepping the paddle? (I am not really sure, it sounds like some mechanical structure is moving )

    Metrum Pavane

Sorry, I was trying to say SPDIF

    Metrum Pavane

great, enjoy your Pavane~ I am now planning to buy other music source device rather than using PC. I am not sure which kind of connection on Pavane sounds the best, AES? USB? I2S?
