    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

Can someone catch me up to speed with a couple of lines? I've had the Bifrost Uber for a couple of year. From what I'm reading, that option is no longer available, but it doesn't matter because the standard Bifrost is considered better now. Is that right? Anyone know why?

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

It could be a number of things. Let me see if I understand you correctly. You have a DT 990 (250 Ohm) connected to an O2 amp connected to the X-Fi Titanium HD and you're hearing a hiss when the volume is turned up. Do you hear it only on playback of a song or can you hear it when you just...

    AKG K812 Pro

Amazon's lowest price was around $1150 and I think that's still way too much. ≈$700, that would be a fair price for these. I would consider buying them again at that price.

I would like to see that recommendation somewhere. They've been recommending Valhalla over Lyr for years on this forum for the HD 700, although both sound good.

Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around

I know it's been said here already, but I'd just like to back it up. The Denon AH-MM400 needs to be a part of this excellent comparison.

The X2 is probably the more "fun" can as it's WAY more colored in the lows. It and the X1 are truly open basshead cans.

Boom! These are about as pure as you can get. Files are in Apple Lossless to maintain the extremely high quality, but anyone should be able to convert them to FLAC or some other high bitrate format. Arithmetic Sine Logarithmic Sine Pink Noise White Noise   In between listenings, I'll...

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I'm gonna play a quick game of "Is it just me or everyone?" (all in the name of fun, people).   Is it just me or does everyone have a problem when they see it written "HD800" vs the correct "HD 800"? Same with "HD600", "HD700", and so on. I'm way too much of a stickler for syntax and nomenclature.

    The ATH-AD700 Discussion Thread

Yeah, that's a point I forgot to make. The AD700 is definitely very very open, but is it natural? I don't think so. The reason I'm just such a huge fan is because of competitive gaming reasons where audio cues and positioning are key. So much of a fan that I just purchased an ATH-ADG1 which is...

    The ATH-AD700 Discussion Thread

The AD700, IMO, does stand alone in those aspects until you hit the $1500 mark with the HD 800 which absolutely slays it. If you want to do better than that with soundstage, get ready to fork over $4500 for some Stax. The Q701/K702 is a happy medium and definitely has the largest soundstage in...

    The ATH-AD700 Discussion Thread

The K702 with the bump headband is widely reported to be uncomfortable. Starting with the K702 65th Anniversary Edition, they removed the bumps and made it flat. A lot of people love it now, but I still find it very uncomfortable for long periods of time. The K702 (and particularly the K702.65th...

    Denon AH-MM400

I would like to second (third?) this. Yeah, I'm very interested, but I think a lot of people (including myself) are going to be very hesitant about this can because 1) the price is higher than its competitors and 2) Denon hasn't been a name at the top of anyone's lists since the AH-D5000. The...
