64 Audio Shootout - Nio. Trio. Fourte. Noir

It’s indeed an awesome review. Look forward to your feedback. It’s fascinating how we all hear things differently and derive enjoyment differently. I prefer Noir whole @gLer prefers OG. though one thing that’s common between them (other than sharing 64’s family genes) is they are both quite...

Agree with @MatW re the good doctor’s cables. For what you’re after I can highly recommend the Graphene SPC. I used it on both the Nio and U12t to good effect in terms of air, clarity, smoothness and bass kick improvements - without muddling the bass or adding excess brightness.

I also have no chance to try out here so rely on reviews, comparisons, and asking questions. At the time I was looking at DAPS, the R8 came across as the most complete package and also to my sound preference of being musical without being too soft, warm or thick; and not being potentially...

Would also love to see something like that. I am a big fan of Apex and can feel the difference with my Noir. But alas, different brands and it’s proprietary tech. I do wish there was at least a port or vent, despite not having a DD. I would agree though that is worth tip rolling. I found the...

Out of interest have you heard the Noir’s? That my foil to the bird when I want a little more razzmatazz, DD bass wallop and energetic sound while still having excellent technicalities and detail.

One of the benefits of 64 Audio IEMs is their LID technology. In essence this counters for wild impedance swings and the resulting impact on sound attributed by sources or varying output impedance. Or more simply put, what you hear is purely the IEM / source pairing without variation or...

Nice comparison photo. Not sure if it was designed this way or just appears as such in the photo but it looks like nozzle to shell distance is very similar (save for a mm or so). So longer shell in 18s is compensated for by a shorter nozzle?

The way I view it is that looking at a FR rarely gives you an idea of what it will sound like - maybe certain aspects, but will be very hit and miss. Rather, it is perhaps more useful to look at a graph after having listened to an IEM, to potentially shed some light on certain aspects of the...

Best bet would be to PM @doctorjuggles who is the craftsman behind the cables. You can also check out some of the creations on the Insta page.

    Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions

Great write-up, and just to add onto eloelo's point, I think people may also underestimate their own hearing profile. While we may look at graphs and pick out dips or peaks at certain frequencies and what that translates to, so too is it pertinent to get one's hearing tested every so often and...

Also keen on this question. Considering a 1950s with the Fourte Noir in case anyone has tried that pairing.

Has anyone paired perhaps tried the Noir with a 1950? I tried the 1960 cable from the Traillii and thought it added a little too much weight and pushed the mids and treble too close to hot for my liking. My understanding is that the 1950 would be a little leaner, perhaps tighter in the bass...

Has anyone here tried palladium plated silver cables on their 64 Audio IEMs? Specifically the likes of the Fourte OG / Noir, U12t, or Trio. And if so what were your impressions? There aren't too many around - to my knowledge it's the EA Leo II, the Satin Audio Athena, and it's also used...

I concur. I find that sense of holographic sound where the voice is clearly distinct is what I enjoy in the 64 Audio IEMs - especially the Noir, the OG (though it’s tuning isn’t to my taste) and to a lesser extent the U12t (which is a little fuller). To my ears the way it’s done doesn’t detract...

High end (IEM) cable thread: impressions, pics, comparisons and reviews.

Hey all. Was wondering where to post this question and thought this may be the best place. Can anyone provide some insight into the general sound that can be expected from palladium plated silver cables? I know it’s difficult to generalize as cables can be very different and there are outliers...

I found the same. Any initial harshness tamed, the sound really opened up, and the bass tightened. I suspect it may also be a case of cable burn-in as opposed to the drivers themselves. I did not like the stock tips. Bass was relatively limp, but the key issue was a "vacuum" / suction feeling...

I haven’t chimed in too much here, but I thoroughly enjoy the Noir with most of this kind of music. For me it’s the more linear / balanced bass (in terms of having both sub bass and midbass in good measure); the clarity with warmth in the midrange; and the exciting, detailed, and dynamic treble...

Very interesting conversation, and I too had thought this kind of music is generally "electronic" with EDM being more along the lines of the "doof doof" club music (albit also having a wide variety of sub-genres therein). But, seem to be mistaken. If I do a quick Google search and look at a...

Have you ever heard this pairing? I did exactly that yesterday using the 4W 1960s from the Traillii with my Noir’s. And my experience was very different to those expectations. It made some non-insignificant changes but extra midbass was certainly not one. I’d describe it as follows: - bass...
