Transferring 8mm film to DVD
My grandpa has a bunch of 8mm and super 8 film from the 50's and 60's and I'm wondering how I can dub it to a digital format other than handing it over to a photo lab. For one thing, the film is in very good condition and probably doesn't need cleaning; more importantly as a matter of pride I...- YngwieJMalmsteen

What do you guys think of the nano lawsuit?
It sounds like bunk to me, but then again I don't own a nano, maybe they really do scratch more easily. So, what do you nano owners think? Does this case have any merit? http://edition.cnn.com/2005/TECH/pte...ple.nano.reut/ The one thing I know about class-action suits: the real winners...- YngwieJMalmsteen

star-spangled banner at saints game...
Oh man, harry connick jr just blew it so bad. Branford Marsalis plays a little intro and then harry comes in, IN THE WRONG KEY. It was horrible, and I felt really embarrassed for them. Branford sorta noodled around for a while, was silent for a while, and then finally figured out the key towards...- YngwieJMalmsteen

How is the wheel of the ipod nano?
Sorry if this has been covered in one of the many nano threads, but how is the quality of the wheel in comparison to full-sized ipods? It looks like it would be the same from pictures. I thought the cheap feel and poor responsiveness of the mini's wheel was one of it's major drawbacks. Has...- YngwieJMalmsteen

R. Kelly: Trapped in a Closet
Anybody else seen this hilarious/terrible movie? Or rather, 30 minute "hip-hopera." Anyway, it's gonna be on (on the west coast) MTV2 at 1:30 and a couple more times over the weekend. If you appreciate corniness it is a MUST SEE.- YngwieJMalmsteen

New shuffles...
Looks like apple is coming out with 2gb and 4gb shuffles. http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/t3...neAugust.xhtml Could be just a rumor I guess. But if it's true they'll probably drop the prices, too.- YngwieJMalmsteen

PDA's with USB-host capability, am I crazy or...
could these be used with portable USB DAC's like the bithead, overture, and (new) porta corda? You may need to install a driver, not a whole lot of them support USB-host locally (but many more do via a compactflash adapter), and storage is a whole 'nother issue. Has someone tried this out or was...- YngwieJMalmsteen

ER-4s through the ipod's headphone jack?
I am looking into getting some canalphones for maximum portability with my iPod, and I was wondering how the er-4s would sound unamped. My beyer dt-880's have a pretty good medium-loud sound (with the volume on max) and er-4s's have less than half the impedance. So how efficient are they? How is...- YngwieJMalmsteen

What's the best 3rd party ipod explorer?
So I finally broke down and bought an mp3 player, you'd think I'd have done it earlier with 33gb and growing; but truth be told none of the players out there really offer all the features I want. I really should have waited for the 80gb (probably this summer) but the price drop was just too...- YngwieJMalmsteen
