I imagine most of the headphones at canjam were probably on the warm side. So “comparatively” I could see that HP100se was the brightest. Not that it is but if you’re listening to hd650 like cans and then listen the HP100se it could be jarring. ;)

Wait is this photo of a havanese breed? My dog looks just like your dog. Very cute.

I was not as impressed when I tried the L Cush at initial listen. But I think now with burn in, yes, the L Cush sounds pretty darn good. As I said before, it's like putting the F Cush on the RS2X. Really works. I suspect the hp100se with L Cush is the closest thing to a modern version of the...

I think there is a consensus here: The HP100se is the "one Grado to rule them all".

Todd was always a fan of flats and when Grado switch to bowls from flats, he decided to sell them himself. Then about ten years ago (don't know exactly), he started to also make the deluxe version also. Which was a slightly thicker. But TTVJ was the sole seller of these flat version pads. Then...

I guess because best "sounding" to me personally would still go to the RS1 (non e/x) series. The RS1 with all it's flaws is the Grado I fell in love with. :) Apart from that personal bias, I do think the hp100se is the best sounding Grado I have heard. However I have heard most but not all. I...

Still very happy with the hp100se. I think the hp100se is the best Grado in terms of technical abilities. It's the most resolving, best imaging, and unmatched in its ability to produce the lowest and best bass. It is also to my ears and preference, while I won't go far as to say it's the best...

SsXxX "can you describe what difference do you hear on your HP100 SE F-Cush vs TTVJ deluxes?" I don't have the TTVJ flats anymore. I used to a while ago. I suspect thought that TTVJ flats offers something in between L Cush and F Cush...more on the side of F Cush than L Cush of course. TTVJ...

To quote myself and continue my shout out to the oldies but goodies. In the past, because of the all the complaints about the honkiness/shoutiness in the upper mids and shrillness and pins and needles in the lower treble and the sibilance in the mid treble and lack of bass, especially low...

Nothing...I mean nothing to my ears can do the dirty, fuzz distortion of the electric guitar like the older RS series: RS2i/RS1i and down. My hybrid RS1i—a buttoned RS1 with RS1i driver (replaced by GradoLabs when the RS1 driver failed)—is a perfect example. Somehow the combination of buttoned...

My F Cush impressions were specifically for when placed on HP100se and not for 325x. The hp100se comes with and is tuned for G Cush and 325x comes with as is tuned for F Cush.

F Cush: Very very up close. There is very little treble air however more mid bass. More lower mids and middle mids and reduces upper mid and lower treble. Some bass heavy tracks will sound congested. To me, why would you? But everyone does have different ears. L Cush: There is little more...

hp100se like rs2x (similar tuning to my ears) in my opinion an all rounder Grado. For classic rock/blues, the rs1i still rules, again to my ears.

What's interesting or atypical about the hp100se in spite of its metal housing I don't really hear what I used to hear with the 325(I/e) and how it's metal housing would impart a metal (housing) ringing/shimmer. I imagined it's dampened to avoid that.

Drew at Moon Audio on his video said that the HP100se would benefit from a warmer cable: "to put meat on the bones." To my ears, I think there is enough meat on them. I would not want any warmer. But this is a matter of preference.

I would say the tuning for the mids and upper mids/lower treble to my ears sounds similar to RS2X (not as forward as RS2e).

I believe as it initially burns in, the bass and treble extends making the soundstage larger and deeper. Yes, I can confirm also that the hp100se's soundstage is wider and deeper than the gs3000x.

So used to doing "rock" with F Cush or L Cush size soundstage. Finally being able to do "rock" with G Cush size soundstage is awesome! Didn't know that I could have both "in your face" and "expansive immersive soundstage" together. With rock Jimi Hendrix or Keith Richard's electric guitar has...

My quick happy initial Impressions: (I thought these were going to be silver. They are more industrial grey. I was also expecting more padding on the headband. ) HP100se: It's a return to classic Grado turning but in a spectacularly refined (clean and smooth) way. It's G-Cush that is both an...
