How’s the quality of the headphone out of the Wiim Ultra?

Between the FT1 Pro and the AR5000, which one sounds fuller (with more bass quantity)?

The AR5000’s sound varies a lot depending on the position on the head. Worn towards the face, imaging is better, towards the rear of the head, bass becomes fuller and deeper and soundstage is also deeper.

I demoed these side by side with a pair of Thieaudio Monarch III. It was immediate apparent that the Nezha is anti-Harmon, meaning it's dense, full, mid-focused, vs Harmonish sonic characterisrtics: spread-out, hollow, open. I like this sound very much, and it is very difficult to come by these...

After I switched from stock tips to Electech Baroque tips, there's a substantial increase in bass relative to the treble. I highly recommend Electech Baroque tips for the Origin.

Great review! I was lamenting that how the SuperMix4 could have been without the scooped out lower mids, it would be a technical+musical monster at a low price. Before long, Simgot gave the answer in EW300. Certainly my next Simgot :-)

Astrolith Official Thread - New Dual Planar Magnetic IEM by Campfire Audio

Very interesting design. I could imagine that this would excel in technicalities. Let’s hope it would tame planar timbre and sound more analog like the Euclid and S15.

If you have a DAC/AMP like the Qudelix 5K, which offers a parametric equalizer, then u just select the FILTER TYPE = high shelf, FREQ = 4000Hz, GAIN = -3dB. Or you may just do some ear tips rolling to fine the best match. Or, you may not need to do all these. It’s quite neutral to start with.

It’s quite neutral. It should work for most people. Even with the amount of details and nuances in the treble, it’s very clean and non-sibilant. I’m especially impressed with the way it handled SSS sound. For those are very sensitive to treble energy, a high shelf filter of 3dB above 4k would...

I’ve been listening to these for 3 days. Clean, clear tuning. For the price, technicalities are very very good. Tight, detailed and textured bass, transparent mids, clean and extended treble. As with most Harmonish tuning, the mid bass is slightly recessed, i.e. less full, more space.

What an exciting time for single DD fans. I had the EA1000 and the Falcon Ultra at one stage, I kept the EA1000 because it has more defined and textured bass. But now I miss the Falcon Ultra’s euphoric sound, better imaging and less cramped soundstage. I think it’s impossible to clearly say...

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience

Thanks Andy for the transparency. The N3Pro is a special DAP, whenever I find a pair of IEM being too clinical/cold/plain, I hook them up to the N3Pro, and I hear euphoric sound. Hope the N3Ultra keeps this strength. I agree with Twister6, just treat it like a big dongle with battery.

I also own the S12 and previously owned the Hook X. The S15 is by far my favorite planar IEM, sound so musical with bass and mids to die for.

I agree on the macro dynamics. These are definitely not an energetic pair of IEM, and it’s fair to say they are rather dull. I too found myself keep turning up the volume to hear the mids. I find the major strength of the Kara is the timbre of human voices. This is the old school tuning of...

Discussing the HIFIMAN Svanar, Audivina, and EF600 With Dr. Fang Bian

Hifiman’s approach in trickling down technologies from high end models to the budget models, and reducing the prices as sales volume increase, really helped bringing high fidelity to the mass market.

FiiO 2022 Annual Report-- Honors and Awards

My favorite Fiio products in 2022: M17 - desktop performance FD7 - fluid, euphoric. My fav single DD, even more than Turii or Zen Pro. FH5S - one of the most underrated IEM. Neutral and detailed. Heard these in 5 occasions, only once the treble was hot as reported by others. My own copy is...

I love the open back designs of recent Fiio iems, kind of like listening to full-sized headphones.

    TRN impressions thread

I am a sucker for SE535-like tuning, i.e. full sounding midrange and accurate reproduction of vocal, as opposed to V-shaped, scoped midrange tuning. I sold it because the poor technicalities and poor extensions. I browse through the graphs, and found Audiosense DT300, and it’s a sound...
