With Conductor 3XR there is some background noise floor as the low gain still has too much power. This amp /dac is not made for in ears though. On the Soloist 3XP no or very little noise in balanced using a 2.5mm to 4 pin XLR adapter. On all devices no hiss though.

Those don't need a lot of power. They are easy to drive. In my experience, balanced will give you better sound anyways, so I always go balanced.

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP

Thank you for the suggestion. 😊👌 I did that now and it worked! Though I have to say if the system offers the newest version as OTA, then it should just work. I do hope Cayin will fix that along with some other bugs in the software in the future. As much as I love the sound of Cayin devices...

Cayin N8 TOTL DAP: KORG Nutube, 4.4mm Balanced, Dual AK4497, Dual output mode, Dual Line Out

It's utter *** for such an expensive device. N6II is way better. Also the low red screen and slow CPU.

Shozy IEM impression/appreciation thread (in particular Pola owners)

I will receive a pair too. As soon as it's there, I will post some impressions. I have various Empire Ears as well as Shozy Pola39 to compare to. Personally, I don't care about measurements at all. I let my ears judge.

Thanks a lot for the review. Just ordered a pair of Phantoms and anxious whether I will like it. I prefer to get all the emotion out of the music rather than dissecting it. I mainly listen to classic/orchestra soundtracks, vocal/guitar centric music and unplugged stuff. I want to feel the...

Thanks for the extensive review. I just ordered the phantom but the mixed reviews make me quite anxious as to whether I will like it. I have the SP1000M as DAP and also a silver /copper hybrid cable to spare. My current IEMs are the Shozy Pola39.

Shozy IEM impression/appreciation thread (in particular Pola owners)

They are actually better. I could not have imagined! The Shozy are just more refined in every regard. Highs shine, voices are pronounced and feel more intimate. Bass and sub bass are more impactful. I love the Pola39. Only thing I don't love is the cable. It is very heavy due to the big steel...
