digiZoid ZO2.3 Impression & Discussion Thread
Danny i use Linux OS so no foobar2k.Foobar is only for Windows. I run Crunchbang Linux on the netbook which is a light weight OS.I use a variety of music players on this other than VLC,like Decibel and Audacious.Sounds good to me.I know that Foobar is better than VLC on Windows. But is there...- eduj

I’m using my ZO2 all the time,I bought it 2 months ago so I guess this is the ZO2.3 version?Unlike most people I don’t use it on portable devices or out of a phone jack. I use it on a “transportable system” consisting of a 10’ Lenovo netbook and a Hotaudio WOW usb dac.I connect the line out...- eduj

JOY DIVISION: Unknown Pleasures versus Closer
I wish I could hear Joy Division for the first time again !I've been listening to these 2 albums for 25 years now on any format you can imagine:Original vinyl, cassette,Factory CD,London CD,Heart & Soul boxset,DAT,DCC,MP3,AAC,ALAC,MiniDisc you name it. I've probably listened to these 2 albums... -
MP3 320 vs AAC 320
320 kbps AAC sound very good on my set up (2009 Mac mini-->Xindak DAC-5-->Stax SRM-323ii-->Stax Lambda Signature) .Almost as good as ALAC. Lame mp3 320kbps on the other hand not so much...the sound is harsher and a bit less detailed than either AAC 320 or ALAC.- eduj

Is iTunes a bad CD ripper?
Not as good as EAC but for making audio files for an iPhone iTunes should be just fine as long as you enable the error correction option in it.- eduj

JOY DIVISION: Unknown Pleasures versus Closer
Only the first edition i.e. the Factory vinyl had the sides labeled "Outside" and "Inside" AFAIK .The cassette came out more that 5 years later in 1984.I bought the original vinyl release (the one with the textured sleeve) from London in 1983. The original tracklisting is this: Outside 1... -
JOY DIVISION: Unknown Pleasures versus Closer
UP doesn't really have sides 1 and 2.Only "Outside" and "Inside".I had the original UK LP release many years ago and for years i used to start listening from the "Inside" side with "She's Lost Control" And i still prefer this order as i'm used to it since i was a teenager. -
