Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Different experience here, having tried the last update yesterday on my DX50. What I like so far : - Settings on almost everything (especially EQ) are amazing compared to stock FW - Playlists, finally - Responsive on click and navigation What I dislike : - Sluggish UI on scroll...- Parpadello

<Renewed at 2012/03/12>The new HiFiMAN 802 & New UI named "Tai-Chi"
I hope that the 802 will have a PCM1704 dac chip as well, nothing seems to be confirmed for now. I've also read on hifiman.us that the HM-601 Slim would have this Burr Brown chip, but I didn't find anything on head-direct (sill the TD1543 on both the 601 and 602). For now, the 801 has...- Parpadello

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Quote: Quote: On one hand, the DAC1 headphone jacks could be better than the Schiit, and on the other, the dac would be the weak part of the combo ? :) Doesn't really help, but I will try though. I compared the DAC1 with the Audio GD NFB2 by the way, didn't feel...- Parpadello

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2
Hi all ! I've read a lot on this thread since I bought my LCD2, and decided to go with the Lyr. I still have the stock tubes, tried the E188CC (RTC) and heard no differences, and now ordered a pair of GE 6BZ7. I hope I will hear some changes. Though, I had the opportunity to...- Parpadello

Hisoundaudio STUDIO-V Review
Quite curious to see what's inside too, as I'm planning to buy one very soon. I'd prefer spending my money on a "really" upgraded HS Studio.- Parpadello

HM-601 or Colorfly CK4?
The Hisound Audio V seems to be a bit above the HM-601 in terms of SQ, and is quite smaller. The UI on both is very...basic, so it won't matter a lot. The Hisound has a much better battery life though, if it helps you decide.- Parpadello

Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.
I've been following this thread since the beginning, and sold my 7th gen iPod in the meantime for a Hifiman 601 : I must say that I'm more than waiting for RB to be functionnal ! The iPod stock SQ is quite bad (too much highs, no bass), but with RB it would be a very decent DAP with 160Gb...- Parpadello

Audeze LCD-2 : is the Matrix Mini-I enough to drive it ?
Quote: Thanks Frankie K, I'll look for the Shiit Lyr then but indeed it's $449 :) It's a beautiful piece though, but then I don't know if it would be a good choice to pair it with the Matrix Mini-I. I just saw some topics concerning the amp to pair with the LCD-2, I'll try to...- Parpadello

Audeze LCD-2 : is the Matrix Mini-I enough to drive it ?
Hi everybody ! I'm about to buy an Audeze LCD-2, and wondering if my setup will be enough to drive it. I actually own a Matrix Mini-I : It's specs : Digital Input: - Optical: toslink, 32-192kHz - Coaxial: 75 ohm RCA/BNC, 32-192kHz - USB: USB-B, 44.1-48kHz -...- Parpadello

Is the ALO Rx enough to drive the DT 880 250 ohms ?
Hi all, I need your advices as I'm planning to buy a Beyerdynamic DT 880 (2005 edition, 250 ohms). I really like the HFI 780 and ESW9 I own, but as I read here and on other forums, the 880 is very well balanced and neutral, with great spatialization. I think it could be a good addition to...- Parpadello

Cowon J3 vs. iPhone 4 + ALO Rx : best solution ?
Thanks for your both opinions Daanish, qDiii, I don't want to sell my iPhone for now, I use it for many things aside from the music part. I was more concerned by the choice "ALO Rx vs. Cowon J3" in fact, for the sound quality. I'll maybe search for a DAP to pair with my amp, if I...- Parpadello

Cowon J3 vs. iPhone 4 + ALO Rx : best solution ?
I just found these prices, on Amazon and Exportprive, and even with the shipping cost to Europe, they remain very interesting. The Cowon J3 is more and more attractive, but I'd have to sell my amp to get it. The choice is quite complicated, I'd definitely need advices on it. So all...- Parpadello

Cowon J3 vs. iPhone 4 + ALO Rx : best solution ?
Hi all, I've been reading a lot of feedbacks concerning Cowon, a especially the J3 : it seems to have a great sound quality, nice EQ and a decent capacity (32 Gb + µSD slot). I'm not a big user of EQ, but the capacity and SQ are interesting. I already own an iPhone 4 (and the sound...- Parpadello

Review: Fiio E7
I'm interested in this E7, but I just have a question after having read the feedbacks : - Would it be a great enhancement for an Ultrasone HFI 780, with FLAC/ALAC files on an iPhone 4 ? I don't want to enhance bass, the HFI are already good enough for that, I just need to have a more...- Parpadello

ESW9 or HFI780 for metal/trip-hop/electro ?
An update, the day I received the HFI 780 I bought to CspotJwalk on this forum. The difference with my AKG K450 is amazing, on lossless tracks (from metal to electro), I truly love it, even if (at first) there are tons of bass, maybe too much for some music. Some EQ settings may be useful...- Parpadello

ESW9 or HFI780 for metal/trip-hop/electro ?
Thanks for your replies ! Indeed the HFI 780 was (at first) the most suitable for what I listen. I had 2 problems with - cable lenght and comfort - but it seems to be solved (sold with a shorter cable and DT250 velour pads available). blueyan & rob, you still have 2 different point...- Parpadello

ESW9A Deal
If ESW9A = ESW9, I'll take them quickly (read on Head Fi it was the same thing, "A" for american market) Just waiting for an answer on a thread though (HFI780 vs ESW9 for metal), but it seems it's a great deal. Thanks hoochi !- Parpadello
