The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
I would be surprised if anyone can answer questions about the ws77..it's just not that popular. Safe to say that both the ws and es is a significant upgrade vs the m50. Get both, keep only the one you like.- as.we.proceed

[REVIEW/COMPARISON] ATH-AD900X vs ATH-AD1000X vs MDR-MA900 - It's STILL over 900!!!!
That gold colored case, ugh.. I chose the Sony over the AT only because they have a more prominent bass and not big enough to slip off my head like the A900x did. So after going for an open headphone like the MA900, it's tough going back closed and losing the airy and non congested feel. ...- as.we.proceed

[REVIEW/COMPARISON] ATH-AD900X vs ATH-AD1000X vs MDR-MA900 - It's STILL over 900!!!!
I've had the MA900 for two weeks, they're definitely a keeper for the $170 i paid. Hands down, the most comfortable headphone i've put on in recent memory and that makes them that much more enjoyable. A solid all rounder. Unfortunately, i just noticed a scuff mark with the black color turning...- as.we.proceed

NEW: Audio-Technica ATH-WS55X and ATH-WS33X SOLID BASS headphones
We'll see about that. There never was a WS33 to improve on anyway, so that's new. The whole AD series recently got the X treatment as well. There always seems to be room for improvement.- as.we.proceed

NEW: Audio-Technica ATH-WS55X and ATH-WS33X SOLID BASS headphones
Only was an assumption on my part, but seeing as to how AT operates it wouldn't be a surprise. With the WS55x at around only $99 USD and no scheduled date for US release, who knows when the 99x will come out. What does the X stand for anyway? Easy enough for me to wait and see since i have the...- as.we.proceed

AKG "K267 TIËSTO" - Discussion, Impressions & Review Thread
You can always do it the PFULMTL way and transplant the drivers into another case. A few short months later and the k167 is down to $125. Good thing i returned them while it was still in one piece.- as.we.proceed

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
The AD700x is now available for as low as $135 in the US while the AD900x is still on backorder and for twice the price. Is the 900x that much better?- as.we.proceed

WS99 not as big as DT770 so probably not ideal for someone with a big head. From memory, the DT770 was too boomy/sloppy for me and these are the complete opposite. 18 days in, these are now in their prime. To my ears, it was a little too warm in the beginning.- as.we.proceed

The WS99/WS77 PG 57..
Concerning the sub-bass, while it is not lacking here in any way, the accentuated mid-range may sometimes make the sub frequencies seem less impactful compared to something like the k167 which has a thinned out mid-range which makes for a more prominent sounding sub-bass. For someone who...- as.we.proceed

The Solid Bass series has a distinct sounding bass. When i first got the WS55 i thought something was wrong with it because i had never heard a bass sound so quick and precise without being anemic. Something to keep in mind for people expecting the boom bassheads typically look for.- as.we.proceed
