7th Gen (2009) iPod Classic 160 SQ
Quote: Yes, sorry I know one does'nt exist . I was refering to a new cable/connection (maybe integrated w/ the DAC/amp) that would have to be engineered from the ground up by R & D at Wadia. (Yup, that woud cost us. As I mentioned, it might not be cost effective, so no-one has gone this...- Podtweaker

7th Gen (2009) iPod Classic 160 SQ
Quote: Are you sure the Onkyo & Audio-Technica docks also have digital out ? While they may sound good you will still be using the DAC inside the Ipod & it will remain a DAP rather than a "transport" unless you can access the digital signal to a DAC of your choice. Quote: Yes, were did you get the impression that I don't realize lossless is like a zip. It's just that I'm happier using the highest attainable bit-rate within any codec. Flac Frontend (level 5 encoding) gave me a higher kbps rate for the same music files flac encoded using the EAC flac...- Podtweaker

What is the best mp3 player in terms of best sound quality in your opinion?
Sorry, but your rant(& anyone elses) about "hi-end" portable for the 'train ride' (or whatever) misses the whole point when the discussion is about available SQ. Just because this is where you tend to do your 'MP3 player'(I refuse to ever listen to listen to MP3 or any 'lossy' bit rates, I tried...- Podtweaker

What's that old saying about "blaming the messenger for the message". It's not the playback that's flawed, it's only playing back what's actually on the recording. The truth is most popular music recordings don't have a lot of upper frequency liquidity, most players are intentionally designed to...- Podtweaker

Which lossless codec uses least resources on iPod?
I would think that the processing resources of Ipods are fairly basic as compared to a PC due to the limited amount of RAM that can be dedicated to any particular function on these portable devices(I could be completely wrong about this, but it seems logical to me). I think that each codec must...- Podtweaker

In a posting quite a few pages back someone mentioned they were'nt having success at recording a full SACD & I'm not sure if anyone passed on this information so here goes. Honestly, the only reason I asked is that people seem to ask(or state) if something seems to be a "troll" to them . I consider most of what I read as nothing more than opinions. I may agree or disagree, but I don't see where anything warrants a "Is this a troll?". Unless you are missing some...- Podtweaker

Can someone explain to me what a troll is & it's intended purpose?
I guess I've always been curious about this from the time I started visiting forums. It appears some of us get pretty upset if they suspect one. My other question is why should someone even pay that much attention to something they consider nonsensical or ficticious ? To my knowledge the "Truth...- Podtweaker

HiFiMAN HM-801 Portable Player / DAC Review: Part One of Two
This probably is'nt as important to most posters over here but all of your comparisons to other portable rig set-ups leave out a significant specification.
