There are only a few possible problems here: 1. fake phones. (I don't recommend buying these from Ebay.) 2. Improper insertion 3. crap source (low bitrate, poor player). 4. Defective unit. 5. Defective ears. If the Bose phones sounded great to you, SE530s may not be your ideal earphone.

Movies look amazing? If the screen isn't as big as me ... I'm not generally impressed. Really, I can't think of a single time in my life that I wanted to watch a movie on a 4" screen (or whatever it is).
