Hi Paul. The version before last (2.01) was great in terms of sound, and worked perfectly in Ultimate mode.

Unfortunately many of us have the issue with the latest firmware that ultimate mode sounds much worse (muffled). Still waiting on the firmware upgrade that’s meant to address it.

Has anyone tried one of the universal headband pads like you get on Amazon to improve the comfort of the SolP? I usually start to feel discomfort after around 30-40 minutes. Also have quite a small head so thinking a pad would also help keep the headphones more in line with the ears.

Suspect it’s got to do with the issue raised over the last few months of ultimate mode not working properly (degraded sound) which would tie into it not getting hot.

I’d be interested in trying that out, though would want iBasso to first fix the issue with the latest DX300MAX firmware which leads to sound degradation in Ultimate mode.

I get that when my sinuses are clogged and have head pressure. It sounds like my ear is a speaker “clipping”. That’s my cue for nasal spray / rinse and if need be antihistamine to clear the head.

My favorites to date are the Acoustune AET07 and SpinFit W1
