No no, I'm sure the "coiffed Canadian" was a reference to Justin Bieber, not you.- Achmedisdead

Now let's see if this player recycles any parts from their players of 4 or 5 years ago, like they have done so often in the past......- Achmedisdead

An audiophile and petrolhead's journal: Buckle up!
A strange thing happened yesterday. First, I was very excited to see what appeared to be a bright yellow Lotus Exige in traffic while I was on my way to work.....rarely do i see anything like that around here. Then, as I was walking into work, I realized the oddity of the situation was even...- Achmedisdead

Pictures of Your *Mid-Fi* Portable Rig ($200 - $600)
A couple of years ago, when I had lower-grade headphones, I probably would have complained about the lack of any kind of equalizer, but now that I have some quality 'phones, I have no complaints about the sound. Even if I never put a SIM card in it, it's still like an iPod Touch but far...- Achmedisdead

Reply to review by 'achmedisdead' on item 'Sennheiser HD 201 Headphones'
You are right about them needing a lot of power....when I had mine I almost wondered if the listed 24 ohms was a mistake! When I got mine they were a nice step up from Sansa earbuds, but I don't miss them now. :-)- Achmedisdead

OK, I gave it a whirl with some gapless tunes, and no, not proper gapless. Roughly equivalent to a lower-end non-Android Sony player, if memory serves me correctly. I don't have a ton of gapless music, so it's not something that would really bug me(besides I have several other players that...- Achmedisdead

I don't know yet....I just got it and I haven't had any free time to just chill and really listen. Hopefully in the next couple days I will be able to find out, I loaded a few gapless albums on earlier.- Achmedisdead

I've had them for a little bit now, just never posted a pic...lol. Really excellent sound if you can handle the clamping force (maybe I just have a big head?) So the full description of above....Nokia Lumia 520 playing Pandora, into the wonderful Sennheiser HD25-1 II.- Achmedisdead

I've heard that the Swiss Guard are pretty bad-ass, not to be trifled with. And as far as the Pope, I'm not a religious sort either, but this new Pope seems like a good one.- Achmedisdead

Mach3Bass, I do like that....but some of the other effects lumped in under the all-encompassing "BBE" name are just awful, IMO.- Achmedisdead

Natural? Nope. I can sit there with a Cowon player, and after a while, tinkering with all the BBE effects and EQ, I can get a slightly more pleasing sound than with everything disabled, but there is a very fine line between pleasing and, "What happened, this sounds weird now". I just...- Achmedisdead
