Grado Fan Club!
Pretty pleased with how my PS500 turned out. And I was finally able to track down a HF-1 to replace my long-missed pair. Before, with the PS500 headband: After, with the original mahogany cups I turned Thanksgiving weekend of ‘05. I’ll keep the PS500 at home and replace my...- en480c4

SCHIIT LYR - Do the pre-outs run through the tubes?
I use the Valhalla 2 as a pre for my Quad 9L active monitors and am very happy with the setup. It definitely sounds better than running a source directly to the speakers, as I had done in the past.- en480c4

I picked up the parts for a project when I was got a new job, but haven't used them much at all. They're like-new, and I'm listing for less than I have into them. Headphone Body - Advertised as real GS3000e housings, including cups, gimbals and headband, though I doubt that they're authentic...- en480c4

Looking to buy a Grado HF-1. One of my only audio regrets was selling #10 years back. I'd be interested in an HF-2 or PS-500 as well if the search for an HF-1 is not successful. Willing to include a like-new Denon DA-500 DAC or non-Grado GS-3000 knock-off I put together as a project as...- en480c4

Selling an old-school, classic Denon DA-500 DAC I picked up last fall for my home office. I've had a number of these over the years, and have another I use at work, and really like it. I saw this pop up while I was working on building out my office and jumped to get another... A bit...- en480c4

Grado modders go Magnum
First post here in ages... I just finished putting together a pair of what are essentially GS3000e knock-offs. I picked up a housing on eBay that included cups, gimbals, the headband... Basically everything but the drivers and cable. They are very good quality for what they are, with only...- en480c4

Boston MA 3-6-2010 Meet Impressions
Impressions... 1st off, I was very impressed with the room. When things were at their loudest, the room seemed to handle it well. Much better than some of the live rooms meets are often held in. The level of gear was impressive to say the least. By far the best gear I've seen at a Boston...- en480c4

Best Metal Albums of 2009?
For me, without a doubt... Swallow the Sun - New Moon After Plague of Butterflies, I thought they may have reached their peak. I'm not sure if anything on New Moon matches the 34 minute opener of "Losing the Sunsets / Plague of Butterflies / Evael 10:00", but it is certainly right on... -
Emilie Autumn
Her "Victoriandustrial" sound is damn entertaining that I've been enjoying off and on since '06. I had the Opheliac EP, love the full release of it. And the re-issue of Enchant is great, though totally different from Opheliac. I tracked down a number of the EPs, which tend to be more hit or... -
2009 - Your Favorite Releases So Far
The short list so far... Neko Case - Middle Cyclone It may not have the emotional depth throughout that Fox Confessor... has, but there are some amazing tracks and nothing really misses the mark. "Polar Nettles", "Middle Cyclone", "I'm An Animal" and "The Pharaohs" are the stand-outs. The... -

The Grado HF-2 Review/Comparison Thread
I was planning on doing an in-depth comparison between my DIY-woodied HF-1 (which I love) and the HF-2 that I was lucky enough to have on loan until mine arrives... That's just not going to happen. The HF-2 shares the HF-1's near-magical mids. But everything else strikes me as such an...- en480c4

HF-2
A kind soul is lending me a pair until mine arrive. I'm hoping to do some quality listening over the weekend and really get a feel for their strengths and weaknesses compared to my modded HF-1.- en480c4

HF-2
Well, like others have said, I'm definitely keeping my order. I appreciate the effort and thought behind it from Grado and TTVJ, despite the issue. But I understand that others feel strongly enough about the mistake to cancel their order. I don't think there's a wrong answer, and I think Todd...- en480c4

The Grado HF2--It's For Real
Well, the F1 doesn't bother me since my HF-2s will likely be fully woodied shortly after they arrive, and the metal cups will sit in a drawer somewhere. I just need to find some time to fire up the lathe!- en480c4

Regina Spektor-FAR
Wow, tough crowd. I think it does a much better job of blending her quirkiness found in the first few albums with some improved songwriting and pop sensibilities than Begin to Hope. I thought that album had a few decent tracks, but was too polished and didn't have many deep cuts. Far has a... -

Grado HF-2 Predictions
Well, perhaps it would've been better if you had said that instead of "(f)or those who believe that it will be better than RS-1, sorry to say this but dream on..........", which dismisses not only the possibility that it could be better, but also the simple fact that a number of people who have...- en480c4
