Review by 'ahunatu' on item 'Takstar Pro 82'
These headphones are hard to review because I like the balance of this headphone and to me balance is probably number one on the list of what makes a headphone of any quality because without balance you can have immense quality in the whole spectrum of frequencies and it would be for naught...- ahunatu

I am surprised. Audio-technica. Probably the best looking headphones ever. Probably the most comfortable headphones ever. Probably the biggest sound in a closed headphone. Bass resolution and impact is crazy good. Very very verryyyyyy comfortable. My big elephant ears don't touch pads -reminds...- ahunatu

Review by 'ahunatu' on item 'Yamaha HPH-MT5'
I remember first hearing the Yamaha MT220's. I remember thinking Yamaha is the new king of headphones. I can't wait to see what they do next. I thought if their lower level headphones had 50% of the energy and forwardness and refinement of the MT220's, they would be an adequate and fun and maybe...- ahunatu

Review by 'ahunatu' on item 'V-MODA Crossfade Wireless'
V-moda calls them "Modern Audiophile" headphones and from my experience it is hard to argue with them. They have everything; clear highs that are crisp enough but not too crisp, strong backbone of mids, and expansive but balanced bass. I think it would be hard to find someone who's actually...- ahunatu

Back on head-fi after long time need some advice
Does anyone else have any experience with the headphones on the poll -Someone who still uses headphones. Does anyone have any recommendations that aren't on the list -even on-ear ones would be okay. Quiet forum.- ahunatu

Back on head-fi after long time need some advice
I'm a sucker for hype headphones as you can tell by my favorites but that Koss is very hard to believe. Online reviews seem to backup a lot of what you're saying though. If they're half as good as you say Koss needs to fire their headphone designer and hire literally anyone and make millions...- ahunatu

Back on head-fi after long time need some advice
I need to get some new full size closed headphones under $170 preferably on Amazon. Big fan of Yamaha MT220's, Koss Pro DJ100, JVC S500 in that order. I would prefer to get something similar to the MT220's signature but if there is something with much better resolution around same price I am...- ahunatu

Review by 'ahunatu' on item 'Ultimate Ears UE4000 Headphones'
These headphones seem to have a large disparity in reviews with people saying they're either too bright or too dark. They're very different from the UE 6000 which to me were very very dark. At first they sounded muffled but with a good balanced sound. Eventually they opened up with the treble...- ahunatu

Over ear Headphones 100$ - 150$
Wow, I said wait for 129 and the following day they lowered it to 129. They have been as low at 99 but this is very very rare. Pro500MK2 53mm drivers I think they are more DJ style so I assume more bass bloom and more tizz in some higher frequencies. I doubt they are as good sound quality...- ahunatu

Over ear Headphones 100$ - 150$
M50X all the way. M40X are a smaller and cheaper driver tuned to sound similar to M50X with more prominent treble. I do think they are overpriced at 169. I'd wait for 129 or less to buy M50x's. They work well for dubstep.- ahunatu

What type of headphones do I need?
Sounds like you already have a work headphone(the v6). I would just get a headphone with actual bass response now. Having 2 different ones might be even better because then you can compare what casual listeners hear with what your flat headphones sound like. I'll second the MT220...- ahunatu

ATH - m50x
Not sure what he's comparing it to but the sound leakage is similar to most other closed headphones. At safe volumes and even unsafe ones for short periods the sound should be very faint if at all audible. Don't listen to what he did 75% that will surely mess up your hearing.- ahunatu

Sennheiser Amperior vs Momentum?
In that case Momentum over ear and Amperior are very very different sound signatures. Bass and Mids dominant for the Momentum over ear and V-shaped for the Amperior. Amperior though is closer to the A900X proportionally, but it should be less strident in treble region because of a slightly...- ahunatu

Sennheiser Amperior vs Momentum?
That momentum has some crazy low bass and the Amperior should be a more clean punchy bass. I'm surprised they're this close otherwise -really never looked at the frequency graphs. I did like the treble on the Momentum but I thought the bass was a little too grandiose sometimes. Never heard the...- ahunatu

Looking for Full sized headphone for 200$ or under.
No experience with these, but I'm gonna say you probably don't want to use open headphones outside. Also most of these are going to sound much sharper in the treble region than a gaming headphone. Sennheiser 558 is probably the safest bet(less likely to shock you in the treble region) but...- ahunatu

Portable Headphone suggestions
HD 439 are actually pretty nice headphones but they don't really have anything special about them. They just reproduce good sound with a relatively rolled off treble. It's a safe sound signature that doesn't have any crispness to the highs or substantial weight in the bass. For your genre's...- ahunatu

Headphones for EDM, gaming sessions under 100$
Gemini HSR-1000 have some awesome bass but also good mids/highs. HyperX Cloud is another version that is more designed for gaming, probably more comfortable too not sure if it's worth 30 or so dollars more than the Gemini though. M40X is really not a good headphone. It's like the M50x but...- ahunatu

Beyerdynamic DT770/32 vs Custom One Pro
If you compare graphs of M50X, M50, DT770, Custom One Pro, you'll notice the original M50 and DT770 are much brighter -more true sound monitors. The M50x were more consumerized-I don't think they lost anything they just became more user friendly for people that didn't like bright highs. Likewise...- ahunatu

Portable over-ear headphone under 300$
No experience with those but DT770 may have too much treble(from frequency graphs) for what you're looking for but otherwise it's a very popular headphone on this website.- ahunatu
