iPhone AAC Bluetooth bottleneck and transcoding
Of course - I am talking about the same bitrate 256 to 256 you can do the test yourself - re-encode the same 256kbit/s file a couple of time sequentially - and listen. Or put it in a spectograph. Cheers!- Koolpep

iPhone AAC Bluetooth bottleneck and transcoding
Yes, that might be - but even then AAC is transparent - meaning you can decode and re-encode 100 times without significant quality loss.- Koolpep

Wireless headphones DAC's?
yes, that is exactly right. Wireless headphones must have an internal am, otherwise no sound would play. the v-moda works in passive mode when cables are used. You are using the amp connected by the cables.Only when in wireless mode the internal dac and amp are used and hence there is a...- Koolpep

Sennheiser HD820
Hi! Put them on your head and move them around to find a position where you get the best possible seal - then WAIT. The memory foam will eventually from the heat of your skin mould to your headshape and you will get a better seal. It's not ideal and I spoke to the guys from Dekoni about this...- Koolpep

Sennheiser HD820
I also deeply disagree - lifeless they are NOT! I blame that on maybe a not decent fit on the head? These are terribly seal depending and I think Sennheiser should make better pads for them that are either softer or broader to create a better seal from the get go and not only after they warmed...- Koolpep

Sennheiser HD820
sounds about right in a nutshell. The increased lower end enables a more enjoyable sound for me, it’s a fuller bodied sound with more weight to it. Still analytical but less cold than the 800 and 800s to lesser extend. I love my 820- Koolpep

I had the 800S for a few weeks borrowed from a friend. I liked it but didn’t love it. I bought the 820 - for me, you certainly made the right decision.- Koolpep

Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM...available in the US!
you are way smarter than me. After my experience with JVCs I immediately jumped into this drop without much care, scanned for a few keywords and figured it’s a refined JVC house sound - I guess I should have read the reviews more careful. When I listened to the HA-FX850 for the first time many...- Koolpep

Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM...available in the US!
Hi bro, dang it, my JVC is still on it’s way. I nearly got all the more bass heavy iems (and still have them) from Aurisonics ASG2.5, JVC 850 and 1100, Sony EX90 Sennheiser ie80, every IMR ever made including the Rah (incoming) - still massively enjoy my custom UE11Pro but was really betting...- Koolpep

IMR RAH - Discussion / Impressions Thread
Same situation for me - usually shipping to the UAE is quick but this time it hasn't moved out of Nottingham. I understand it's the christmas rush but still..... this is a bit sad. Won't be a christmas with Rah's in my ears for sure.- Koolpep

iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review
the iDSD is charged through the male USB port on the back of the unit. The female USB port on the side of the unit is to charge other devices from the iDSD battery (use as power bank). The “weird” port in the back allows the unit to be directly connected to the Apple CCK or micro usb/ usb-c to...- Koolpep

Oppo PM-1 Planar Magnetic Headphone Impressions Thread
To use your words: so where between closed and open backs. They are certainly not leaking als much as fully open ones - you will hear outside sounds but a bit damped and likewise people around you will hear what you are listening to but more faint than with fully open ones. Just took them out...- Koolpep

Oppo PM-1 Planar Magnetic Headphone Impressions Thread
I can only speak for Question 1: My friends PM1 sounded exactly the same as my PM2 - according to Oppo it's only comsetic differences. The PM-2 is a great looking headphone but the PM-1 looks even more refined and luxurious.- Koolpep

Sub-bass in LCD2C vs closed-back dynamics?
I want to weigh in - you want more low end bass - get Fostex TH-900, TR-X00 Ebony or some of the Denon recommendations here (I can vouch for the AH-D7100 and AH-D600). I have the LCD2 from 2014 (with fazor) - not a basshead can but it has lovely bass, less than the classic - hence the reissue...- Koolpep

Sennheiser HD820
Ok - my observations after a couple of days having these: I was frustrated with having to find the right fit for the bass to shine. But then I had the epiphany - it's not only how they sit on your head but also the bloody earpads need to warm up to be soft enough to mold to year head....so...- Koolpep

IMR R2 Aten Thread
Good one @masterpfa !! I bought a set of B-Stock R1 Zenith for one of my best friends - who is into speakers. He received them yesterday and his words: "Dude - these things are the bomb. Yes - it's great to see IMR going not only upmarket but also getting in the more accessible area. I am typing this while listening to the R2 Aten - my goodness are these enjoyable...
