I personally want to see a LCD 2 vs HE-560 battle, because they both have the same price range. 

You better hurry now, because they're around 3 or so Mad Dog 3.2's in the FS Forum including mine. I saw one for $225, mine is for sale for $280, and I can't remember about the last one. If you get one of the options, I think it could be worth it, since you would be breaking even with the Mad...

I think most people use the word "portable" as going places. I can understand need for doing things around the house, but that is not what some of these setup's are used for. I think if it's for work, then wouldn't that just be a regular setup? I guess if it was "transportable", but I can't...

I agree with this. Most 8yr old's don't really value a headphone that would cost $250. I know I didn't value expensive toys when I was 8. I would recommend thought to not buy him really expensive headphones first, because I mean c'mon what 8yr old needs a $250 Astro A40 headset. It seems like...

Maybe it's just me then, might change for the Lyr though, just for the extra power. 

I've never heard anyone call the Razer Kraken's or the UE 9000 anywhere near bassy headphones . 

My expierence is the stronger the amp, the better for the Ortho's. If you are barely pushing 1 watt, then that is not good enough. I'm not even sure that my Asgard 2 can power the LCD-2's when I'm getting them.    Cable's are a different thing that I haven't done enough testing with. 

Buying stuff based on graphs and Impressions alone. Bad idea.
