REVIEW: Vivo Xplay 3S + XE800 Mobile audio perfection
They look different than the ones I have and wrote a review about. They sound brightish, natural to me with great resolution.- Pastapipo

DUNU DM-480, DM-380 impressions thread
My take on the DM-480: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/dunu-dm-480.24117/reviews TL;DR: Great IEMs, well worth their money, just too much of a U-shape/thinny mids for me.- Pastapipo

Review by 'Pastapipo' on item 'Dunu DM-480'
Introduction. Dunu approached me and offered me a chance to review their new DM-480, a dual 8mm dynamic in-ear with a removable cable. They retail for around 63 euro's and come in two colours. It's been a while since I reviewed some gear, so this was a nice opportunity to return to the game...- Pastapipo

DUNU DM-480, DM-380 impressions thread
I think Baskingshark nailed it here. A U-shape however, is not my thing. I'm missing the middle frequencies and keep increasing the volume to compensate for it. Remember I said I noticed harshness at higher volumes? That's just my ears protesting to the volume, not distortion from the...- Pastapipo

DUNU DM-480, DM-380 impressions thread
Received my review sample yesterday. First impressions OOTB are positive as well! Nice, this is exactly what I experienced upon first listen. The bass has the ability to 'shake the room' but it does not interfere with the spacious and well separated mids/highs. Very enjoyable. Separating the...- Pastapipo

Denon AH-D1200 portable over-ear impressions, appreciation, and discussion thread.
I did a short side by side with the SRH 840 and the D1200 and have to admit the Shures are the 'better' of the two. The detail, soundstage and tightness is a step ahead of the D1200. I do think the D1200 are more 'fun' (bit warmer on the midrange (guitars +1) and more subbass for example), but...- Pastapipo

Denon AH-D1200 portable over-ear impressions, appreciation, and discussion thread.
Thanks for the recommendation. However, since the Denons do not leave my desk I think I'll take the risk :)- Pastapipo

Denon AH-D1200 portable over-ear impressions, appreciation, and discussion thread.
I've owned the Denon D1200 for about a year now and have been most satisfied with them! I would discribe them as balanced over the entire spectrum with a touch of extra bass. Both sound and design are very comfortable, I wear these headphones for hours straight on work without any fatigue. They...- Pastapipo

That little smsl x4 seriously has some punch to it. Very affordable way to improve your audio. I don't know if I'll find the time to properly review it, but I'm seriously quite fond of it.- Pastapipo

I honestly do get a huge difference on Android 8.0. Do other members have this experience?- Pastapipo

I'm appropriately ashamed. Our apologies. On another note; I recently bought the LG V30 and I love it. I'll compare it to some DACs (smsl x4 and Dragonfly red) soon and let you know my experiences.- Pastapipo

LG V30
The Oreo update for the LG V30 arrived in the Netherlands last night. One of the differences I found was that my offered me an option to automatically start Spotify when I connected my headphones (in this case the Vivo XE800). I opted for this option and found out the output is much louder...- Pastapipo

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Don't dispose of it just yet. My ipod had the same problem. The problem came from my jeans pockets, in which dust/cloth collected inside of the 3,5mm connector over time. When connecting my headphones, one channel didn't work. Upon removing that piece of cloth, it worked fine again. Maybe your...- Pastapipo

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
9 days from China to the Netherlands. Santa's early this year. Initial impression is really positive! Haven't heard all the filters yet, but the black nozzle + red back got the most playtime at the moment. Thanks for the reviews guys!- Pastapipo

Exceptionally late to the party, but I ordered the lz-a4. Let's see what they sound like when I get the dust off from them. Anyway, this forum is not dying. People just need some time to get used to the new layout. On top of that, we have no choice. Just like other addictions, eventually you'll...- Pastapipo

New Dragonfly Black and Red Discussion
I've got a DFR and a Galaxy S7, wonderful combo, but the only problem indeed is the volume. When the DFR is connected to the S7 and the volume set to the maximum, the output is far from what the DFR is capable of compared to when connected to a PC. I don't know if a Fiio A5 is powerfull enough...- Pastapipo

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I jumped the A4 band wagon too on 11/11, but without the cable upgrade. Will it make such a difference? I didn't pay much notice to cables since I used to play in the sub $50 IEM league and didn't expect that much of a change, but now I got myself a Dragonfly Red and a LZ A4, it might get...- Pastapipo

That's very unfortunate. I cannot hear anything you're describing. I've got 2 pairs and both sound the same and are very easy to drive. Where did you buy your pair? How did you pay? Did it come with a retail package? (the fake ones did). Only when I put the volume near max in the Mechina...- Pastapipo

I find it hard to list them in order because of their different uses. Straight out of my Galaxy S7, the Urbanfuns win. So they are in my ears when commuting or when I can't carry a DAC. During long studying sessions, I'm combining the Vivo's or Tenores with the Dragonfly black. I like...- Pastapipo

A while back I promised to compare the Vivo XE800, Urbanfuns, MEMT X5 and the Zero Audio Tenores. Unfortunately I can't find the time anywhere soon for an extended review, so here a short conclusion (all of which are my personal opinion): XE800: Talked about these earlier in my review...- Pastapipo
