Why CAN I play 24/192 files through my Fiio E7?
Thanks to all. That makes sense. @tomb: I have also read a lot about the advantages/disadvantages of HD music. The one I found most useful is http://xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html which proclaims: "Unfortunately, there is no point to distributing music in 24-bit/192kHz...- Midge

Why CAN I play 24/192 files through my Fiio E7?
Newbie alert. Question as per thread title. I'm using the following at work: PC running MediaMonkey-->USB-->Fiio E7-->Lehmann Rhinelander-->Fostex TH-900. Very odd combo, I know. When the E7 is specified as 16/48 max on USB, what is happening to allow me to listen to 24/96 and...- Midge

Well, as the seller stopped communicating with me I escalated the case on 14 June '14 and within the hour I had a full refund from eBay. It was almost certainly a scam. I haven't received anything but I've learnt some lessons. Now to restart my search for some headphones. Locally! ...- Midge

Yes, thank you very much, pe3ucTop. That's very helpful. I will ask the UK Post Office today. In the meantime I am waiting for 14 June before I am allowed to contact eBay again. Planned a dedicated trip down to http://hifilounge.co.uk/highend-headphones in a couple of weeks. Maybe...- Midge

Yes, a mystery encoded in the Cyrillic alphabet! There's not much English text on the website. I've had to decode with the use of Google. Here's the URL, etc. http://www.bgpost.bg/?cid=176 Tracking number: ri098267266bg In case anyone understand more!- Midge

Yes, URL for tracking, plus tracking number. That takes me to a Bulgarian Post Office website, which shows 4 entries and then nothing after 22 May, when something leaves Bulgaria!- Midge

Well, it looks as though something has been sent out of Bulgaria. But there is no information about the parcel, or destination or source address. So basically, I know nothing and have no leads.- Midge

Hey, thanks moriez. The carrier is the Bulgarian Post Office, apparently. Only the sender is allowed to make enquiries about a shipment. And my Bulgarian isn't too hot! I guess there are a few lessons for me here: 1) winning an auction at a good price might mean it really is too good...- Midge

Not surprisingly, I still have no headphones. The seller responds to my questions within a few hours, asking me to wait "a few more days." But the tracking information hasn't been updated since 22 May 2014. So that's over two weeks since it apparently left Bulgaria. I've opened a case...- Midge

No real news but a quick update. The last line on the Bulgarian postal tracking website is: 22 May 2014 21:08:50 BULGARIA SOFIA LC/AO Insert item into bag (Otb) and Send item abroad Влагане на пратка в чувал (C 09) и изпращане в чужбина So, it looks like something is being...- Midge

Thank you both very much. I think it's pretty safe to now assume that it's a scam. I believe in coincidences, but..... Any yes, I paid by PayPal. So I'll probably see my money back in 2 months time. Sorry, I don't understand GREQ's comment about them being worth it if they are old. ...- Midge

I'm guessing there are no responses because it's a stupid and/or verbose question?! I think I've now established that the GS1000i actually have GS1000 written on the headphones; the i is missing. Perhaps someone could just confirm that fact for me please? If that's true, how is it...- Midge

Yesterday I won an auction on eBay.co.uk for what was listed as Grado GS1000i. I paid promptly and I'm waiting for some response or notification of postage from the seller. However, after very carefully looking at the sellers photos, it now seems that the photos show the GS1000 model, not...- Midge

The oft-overshadowed SR125i - My Favorite Prestige Series Model. What's your favorite?
Here's where I'm coming from: I've owned, used and maybe even slightly abused a pair of SR125s (note NOT SR125i) for many years (13?). I use them for several hours every working day, listening to a range of music from classical to rock from a PC source coupled with Fiio E7+E9. I recently...- Midge
