i listened to my friends shuffle with my E4's...and frankly, thats the worst sounding player i've ever heard in my life. The bass is a faint pop, its loaded with hiss, and it sounds horrible. I don't know if the EQ was on or not...but their was heavy hiss. The only apple product that sounds...

Sorry, i know this is probably a noob question to all of you head-fi experts but what does recabling do? Does it change the sound? Eliminate static.... also, i have E4's. Would recabling them make them better in some way???

the iPods battery isn't powerhungry. In fact, nothing about the iPod is power hungry, except H.264, apples most wonderful power hog codec. Thats why the battery life sucks for movies...

it gets me pumped up when i work out...probably adds +5% to whatever i can do...It gives the music the BANG it needs...however mids are very important too!

i say the ZVM. If it sounds as good as my ancient Nomad Xtra, its worth it. That thing sounded pretty good. On the other hand, the X5's BBE is tantalizing. I love it. I'm hooked on it. It sounds great. It improves the clarity ten fold. But then you lose the mids somewhat (and i have shures)...

I am looking for a full size headphone (like Senn, AKG, Grado size) for home use. I like dark sounding (bass-head) but i don't want it to degrade quality. about 150 bucks tops (but it is adjustable, i'd be willing to go a LITTLE* over) (source iaudio X5) *10 bucks or so.

shuffle and 96kbps? I don't think any headphones can fix that.....

money and this website don't go to well..normally the latter wins... anyway, I love my E4s. I have them unamped (source: iaudio X5) and they sound great. Lots of bass (i'm a bass head. I actually turned the bass down) lots of clarity, treble, shure mids. Love them. Wouldn't trade them at all.

the X5 is better. and yes i have heard both of them (5G, Nano, Shufle, 4G, Mini, Mini 2G). The X5 is better then them all. Much better.

Well. I bought them. Yes. from me to me type of thing. Well. I must say. I have to stop using periods. Really bad. The clarity is awesome! on my x5, they sound great, bass is accurate and powerful. As a basshead, i am impressed. THREE THUMBS UP!

Well, its finally come down to this. I am leaning towards the E4's, but i can get them at the following prices: E4's: 170 Shipped E3's: 110 Shipped from what i've heard, the E4 has better everything, but the treble is somewhat dull. I am going to run it unamped through an Iaudio X5...
