Does anyone have any recommendations on a smaller travel case for these?

Been listening to these for about an hour or so. Very fun sound with quite a boomy bass though some of the female vocals sound a bit too artificial at times. I was curious to see if the aux made any difference and was rather surprised. I hear some of the DMP sound through these so very happy...

I did sample all three with the IERs so here's my opinion. The TAZ sounds warm and really wide. The Hugo 2 sounds fast and intense. And the RME sounded very clean.

Totally understand this. I find the Empyreans scale very well with different setups. I originally used it on a WM1A and TAZH1ES with the Alcantara pads, but on a Chord Hugo 2 or DMP, i much prefer the leather pads. You'll find the silver cable a wonderful upgrade and copper is an excellent...

I paid $6k for mine. I've seen it used at e-earphone before for 628,000 yen before so I guess that's what the used price goes for these days?

I recommend the Empyreans + silver cable. Wonderful bass on them with the leather pads and also very easy to drive.
