Closed Headphones for Classical, Rock, and Jazz
Thanks for all the input. I'll probably get the Mad Dogs but does anyone have input on the Shures. Also, how is the isolation of all 3 headphones I mentioned?- llamatimelord

Closed Headphones for Classical, Rock, and Jazz
Thanks shadow 419. I was also curious though, how do the Mad Dogs compare to the AKG K551 or the Shure SRH 940. Also, I understand that the Shures aren't very durable. Is this a big issue or will just taking good care of them prevent damage.- llamatimelord

Closed Headphones for Classical, Rock, and Jazz
Thanks for the suggestion! How do the Mad Dogs compare to the AKG K551? Also, I went on the Mr. Speakers website and it looks like they are semi-open. Is there much sound leakage?- llamatimelord

Closed Headphones for Classical, Rock, and Jazz
Hi, as my title states, I am looking for some new closed headphones. I listen to about 40% Classic Rock, 40% Jazz, and 20% Classical. For these particular genres, in my opinion, good headphones would need to have: good detail and clarity/good sound stage. I also would like the headphone to be...- llamatimelord

Searching for New Headphones
Quote: I apologize if I wasn't clear. To clarify, I listen mostly to Classic and Alternative Rock and some Jazz. I want deep bass without sacrificing clear vocals and treble. Soundstage is a big factor. I want to take comfort into account too. I hope that clears everything up. Thanks.- llamatimelord

Searching for New Headphones
I am looking for some new headphones. I need them to be closed and will be using and iPod and cMoyBB to drive them. I listen mostly to Classic rock music. I would really like a good bass in addition to treble. Mids/Vocals are also really important to me. So Vocals and Bass are more important...- llamatimelord

Amp for Grado ---
I published this in the wrong forum so I'm reposting it. I have Grado SR80i and want to upgrade to SR225i eventually. I am also planning on buying a Cowon J3 and an amp (PA2V2 or Little Dot I+ Hybrid or FiiO E17- whichever helps in the bass department without sacrificing treble) I am very new...- llamatimelord

Amp Questions
I just bought a Grado SR80i. I am also planning on buying a Cowon J3 and an amp (PA2V2.or Little Dot I+ Hybrid- whichever helps with the bass) I am very new to the audiophile world and have some questions. 1. I know that using line out from an iPod to plug into an amp bypasses the opamp...- llamatimelord

Amp for Grado
I just recently bought my first high quality headphones, Grado Sr 80i. I am so impressed and I love the soundstage and I think that the treble which some people complain about being to sharp is perfect. However, although not a bass head i would like to increase the bass on the Grados with out...- llamatimelord

Grado Sr 80i 0r 225i/Amp?
I am going to purchase either the Grado SR80i or SR225i. I've decided that they fit my preference of rock music well. I, however, don't know if it is worth it to buy the SR225i. I've never owned any good headphones before so I don't know if I'll be able to tell the difference between the two. I...- llamatimelord

Ultrasone or Grado
I have narrowed down my search for new headphones to some Ultrasones and Grados. I have a $200 budget and I know that some of these go over but I have been able to find them for cheaper prices. These are the headphones I am thinking about: Ultrasone Pro 2500 and HFI-780 or 580. I also am...- llamatimelord

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. Audio Technica M50 vs. Other
I am new to buying over-ear headphones. I primarily listen to Classic Rock and Alternative Rock. I don't know much about buying headphones so I could use all the advice I can get. I am drawn towards the Ultrasone HFI 780 and Audio Technica M50. However, if you have any suggestion s that would be...- llamatimelord
