Roland Headphones Underrated?
Nah. Roland phones are intended to be sold at musical instrument retailers as accessories for electronic pianos and drums, silent string and wind instruments, synths and guitar amps; to people who are obviously familiar with the name Roland, but aren’t familiar with actual headphone brands nor...- LayLay

One thing I love about the stock pads is that they are extremely hypoallergenic. I haven't had any sort of skin reaction whatsoever.- LayLay

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
Just wanted to warn you guys that you can get crosstalk issues if you don't twist-clockwise-to-lock the cables into the earcups. It's a bit funny, getting crosstalk with headphones with split cables, I'm not sure I'm a fan of the any-wire-any-cup system. Zero crosstalk if the cables are properly...- LayLay

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
Don't worry about the 470 Ohm figure, epilogue, these really aren't that hard to drive. I'm using the low gain setting on my Fiio A3 and am getting more than enough volume while inputing line level signal into the amp. (am kind of thinking they sound better on the high gain setting though) And...- LayLay

Q: High gain? Low gain? Quality difference?
105dB safe listening volume? LMAO. With Skrillex at 105dB you're getting tinnitus in a jiffy.- LayLay

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
Hi guys, I'm the guy who wrote that mean post up there. Well, after a difficult decision process, I ended up ordering the R70Xs! It's not another piece on my mantle, this will be my only serious pair for hopefully a very long time, hence the difficulty in making the decision. I actually...- LayLay

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
This is getting a bit difficult now for me. :) I believe you, and since X2 is apparently better than the X1 in clamp so X1 < X2 < HD650, this is good news. Unfortunately, I've learned a long time ago I'm not most folks. :p Haven't given up though. After all, there is a big price different...- LayLay

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I never experienced a noticeable difference in comfort in wearing headphones with glasses or without, I guess I was unclear about that. I had glasses in the past which gave me trouble. My current pairs are big enough, light and have thin arms. I learned to take good care in selecting frames, and...- LayLay

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Thanks. Seems it is a problem after all. I have trouble when there's clamping with headphones and eyeglasses, so it's probably prudent to stay away. I'll pay more and get the SRH1840 then, it seems to be a champ when it comes to clamping comfort (I love how nicely it stretches). I found...- LayLay

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I have a question about the clamp in HD 600 and 650, since I hear they've got a whole lot of clamping force. Can you declamp, and I mean declamp the heck out of them without breaking anything?- LayLay

Shure SRH1840 and SRH1440 Unveiled!
I seem to be shifting away from them into the 1840 territory as well, despite what I blurted out. :) It seems to be one of the most comfortable full sized headphones for large heads. So expensive though... I want them to last through at least five years of daily use if I get them. I'd be very...- LayLay

A Y 2xRCA to 1/8" stereo jack cable that connects to your computer's audio output. With the iLoud it comes included, it looks like this: You can also use a regular 1/8" to 1/8" male stereo. Or BlueTooth if you really want to or need to.- LayLay

I can't answer that past the obvious, sorry. It's best you look into them yourself. They're very small, DSP driven with a good amount of bass for the size. They're intended for monitoring with their linear response, but that shouldn't make them unusable for HiFi purposes.- LayLay

Shure SRH1840 and SRH1440 Unveiled!
I know that I'm replying to an old post, but considering the driver on the right is the 1440 driver, looking at the images it seems like the diaphragms (not sure if that's the right term) of the two are sort of "flipped", as in they're open towards the inside on the 1840 and towards the...- LayLay
