Sony MDR-1000X
I'm not being sarcastic at all. I don't get a break of seal in general use from walking around with these at all and pressing on the pads doesn't help identify breaks in te seal but does cause air to pull/push through the pads. The material used may be partly to blame for the added audibility of...- pathway

Slightly more negative view and the only person I've ever read who prefers the Bose sound signature http://uk.pcmag.com/headphones-reviews/84835/review/sony-mdr-1000x I'd also hazard a guess that they may not have really experimented with the NC Optimiser as in my experience, and others, it...- pathway

I mowed the lawn with them on the other day and walked around the house a lot and haven't experienced any issues with the seal - I expect it was just a physical fit issue in that instance. Regards pricing I know that someone bought from Dixons Travel Edinburgh for £270 so significantly...- pathway

They've been available on the Sony site for a little while (a week or so) - that is what triggered me to ring around but when I did no shops had stock but were expecting shipment in the next week or two so I would still recommend ringing around as delivery times might be faster with an in-shop...- pathway

I think I got lucky but I got mine direct from a Sony Store last week (Friday). It was the only pair they had in the store room and they had no main stock for the shop or pre-order customers but were expecting it in sometime this week I bought from Harrow - the other local(ish) shops didn't...- pathway

I find it hard to disagree with the review - I need to use the telephone more in tricky conditions but everything else mentioned tallies with my experience so far - very pleased with mine despite not having directly compared them to others- pathway

I conducted a short wireless call today with my wife who was using a car kit. I asked her later on what she thought of the audio quality and apparently she couldn't tell any difference between my use of the headphone and a normal call. Only a single test but early indications are positive- pathway

If I already owned the QC35 I don't think I'd even consider changing unless you could off load the Bose for close to purchase. The Sony have some extra features but if there is a big £/$ difference to change and comfort is paramount I doubt the upgrade (if there is one) would be worth it...- pathway

I'm afraid I've never heard the Momentum 2 Wireless but have read nothing but good things about their sound. However, they didn't even get a look in whilst I was making my shortlist as the most important feature was Noise Cancelling then everything else (I know the M2 reportedly has decent...- pathway

Not tested them in a windy environment but a couple of additional points from a few more minutes: Positives Noticeably less hiss when NC is on and no music is playing compared to the QC25 (again - not tried the 35) Little, if any, difference in SQ between NC on and Off The pads...- pathway

Officially the word is still an October release here in the UK but it seems a few are popping up - literally only 1 or 2! Amazon.co.uk still has pre-order with a 10/10 date but I know that Amazon DE (Germany) has pre-order for a 9/18 delivery and it seems there are some available in the...- pathway

First impressions of the features: - The NC is very effective - noticeably better than my wife's QC25 although only tested with a few sound effect videos, brown/pink noise and things around the house - like a microwave. - The Ambient sounds modes are clever and seem to work very well...- pathway

Brief update I've only had a short while to try them on and compare them with my wife's Bose QC25 to compare fit/comfort. The inner cup dimensions feel a little larger than the 25 (not sure whether the QC35 is different but I've read it has more room than the 25) and despite being a fair...- pathway

Well, My closest Sony Center has 1 pair in stock so I am going to pop over and try them on and see (they have reserved them for a few hours). I doubt I'll be able to get a true impression of the sound quality but I am not looking for the best sound in these - I have other cans for...- pathway

I doubt the 40g (whichever way it goes) makes much difference in real world conditions and I personally don't consider the on-paper stats important but you did raise the point regarding the factor of weight so merely felt it appropriate to pass on the information I had I'm hoping to get to...- pathway

Hmmm, The UK Bose website and almost every single review/spec sheet I've ever seen have them at (or around) 310g (or 0.31KG on the Bose site). However, the same reviews all say they are exceptionally comfortable and the wider headband distributes the weight well. I will predominantly be...- pathway

I rang a couple of Sony Center stores here in the UK and they are expecting them in stock on Friday (16th) - Amazon UK still claiming Oct 10th. Why isn't the Focal Spirit Classic more popular!
