Brise Audio FUGAKU - The world's first Ultimate Portable Audio System

It was opened for demo across 9 days. On the day of testing (4th day), there was someone after me. Jaben did tell me someone tested before me and the sets for first issue was already sold.

Brise Audio FUGAKU - The world's first Ultimate Portable Audio System

I doubt this is for everyone really. It's kinda like a sports car vs a fast sedan. Both are great, one just cost insanely more for some improvement that many may not appreciate for its price. I don't think most people will ever consider buying it, but like Warwick Systems or the Sienheiser...

Brise Audio FUGAKU - The world's first Ultimate Portable Audio System

I tried the fugaku when it was on demo in Singapore under Jaben for about 1hr x2 session. Honest opinion here and still contemplating due to its astronomical price tag that can buy multiple systems. i prefer to write impressions with comparison. There’s easily argument which earphone is best...

    ZMF Caldera Closed

Thought I share my first look at the caldera closed. I bought them recently and man I still can't get how a close back planar can sound so clean clear and open. I like it significantly more then caldera open and personally maybe little more then my DCA stealth now.

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO

So far I feel the Diana series of headphone other than needing a little more power, it's rather forgiving, easy to wear and relatively small and light. ZMF stuff is great too if you like their slightly lusher sound stuff. Especially the bokeh is real easy to drive. T+A Solitaire T via cable...

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO

Thats correct. All headphones can scale to a certain extend but not all headphones are forgiving to not so great amp. Most DAP implementation is not perfect there. That said unless you AB, other then running of juice and distorting, it's actually quite hard to tell how good a headphone is in...

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO

Personally it’s belongs to clean, easy to drive, easy to wear and less finicky headphone. For day to day use, it’s my current preferred choice. I can plug into daps, BT receiver, high end amps and they all work. Is it the best sounding, hmm probably not. But those that sound better to me is way...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

this thread is rather interesting haha. Where did the other owners go haha. I been browsing through and I think the only thing I want to do is tame the 5-6k region of this headphone just a touch so I can raise the volume without increasing sibilance for me hmmm. Currently at night I can go with...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

BTW after a whole night of listening, this headphone is really good for soft listening. Im not sure if this was Yamaha intention since the YH5000SE do easily distort at higher volume, but at lower volume it is rather balance. The boosted frequency may have compensated the hearing sensitivity at...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

The yh5000se is too unique in sound signature and has two pads to change the sound. I’m not sure how many actually even tried the suede pads before commenting but it probably makes the most difference in opinion. That said I agree we should not need to optimise so extensively to just sound...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

After more trial, this headphone I notice it’s meant to listen at low volume. As such the elevated bass and treble sounds normal there. This headphone is one niche performer

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

I actually don’t subscribe to a totl headphone needing a totl setup. It just happen the HM1 sounds best for it but if any amp has a similar characteristic, it may also sound fine. The second place to me is ferrum oor. It’s just that YH5000SE felt Soo specific it kinda makes me sad since the...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

I managed to get a home demo for the YH5000SE. Will be releasing a video soon but I just want to really write this down as it’s one of the weirder headphones for me Looks and build, I think there is no need to explain but its great. The sound is where it gets real weird for me. I tried it...

I did a first look and measurements of the Kiwi Ears Quartet. The switches do give it good flexibility and the sound works out for people want more mids and lows.

Zähl HM1 - Reference Headphone Amplifier

That is very hard to come by. It's another pre-order of months hahaha. The issue is without a side by side test, nothing is definite and unless I carry my HM1 to my dealer when he has a occasional 465 for demo, it will not be possible hmmm.

Zähl HM1 - Reference Headphone Amplifier

Just did my first look of the HM1 compared with Ferrum OOR. I also compared it to SAEQ HSA-1C and I’m inclined to say this maybe as good as solid state can get. First Look 20: Zahl HM1

    SAEQ Impressions Thread

I manage to reduce the hum significantly by getting it routed through a pre-amp and then isolating all the power supply. Unless I am listening to really loud levels, the HSA-1C is generally hum free in normal environment for most of my headphones and even earphones

    SAEQ Impressions Thread

I attached the frequency spikes for the HSA-1C I am seeing. You can see the 3 spikes at about 5k, 8k and 16k. Considered I try 2 units and both showcase some sort of the his characteristic at varying degree ( the first unit was rather loud), my guess this is either from my power line or an...

Nope. I managed to reduce it to the level where it usually doesn’t matter using filters and ifi ground defender. But if there is no sound you can still hear it slightly.

Reply to review by 'tassardar' on item 'RAAL 1995 Immanis'

@XVampireX Mass Kobo 475 don't have much power. Running Immanis on it will result in a relatively soft maximum peak volume which is probably on the high 80s and then it will start distorting.

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

When I tried with my tube amp last time with my CA-1A and then Immanis, it produced this overly smoothed nature. My friends who tried also commented on it. As such for all my Raal headphones they are exclusive on solid state only.
