Wish to trade my Earmen Angel for any of the following DACs: - iFi Signature Finale - Cayin RU7 - iFi Go Bar Kensei I absolutely love the Angel but I have other pieces of audio gear that I feel would compliment the other DACs listed here a lot better. The Angel is in great working order...- drummguy26

Very nice post! I agree with most of it, especially about the source. You definitely need a brighter source to get the best out of the Quattro. I also have the Earmen Angel and feel it pairs extremely well with them. The other thing I agree with that I have changed my perspective on since I've...- drummguy26

This is so true! I know that everyone has different preferences and expectations going into a brand new iem with a bunch of hype surrounding it, but I feel like a lot of the really negative takes on the Quattro (monotone bass, no treble, etc.) sound like "off" units to me. Or maybe even...- drummguy26

Curious, does anyone know of any easy way to replace the nozzle grill for the Serial without damaging the grill itself? I wanna swap it out with another filter but wanna keep the originals intact.- drummguy26

Yes this is true. I based it off of a Harman-like target. I do prefer a lot more treble (maybe more than normal), but I feel like the Quattro does it very well. And the beauty of EQ is that you can change it to your liking. As someone stated earlier, this is purely my preference.- drummguy26

Although not a perfect adaptation, it comes pretty darn close. Here's a 10-band version of it. :) | # | Type | Fc (Hz) | Q | Gain (dB) | |-----|---------|-----------|------|-------------| | 1 | Peaking | 33 | 0.4 | 3.7 | | 2 | Peaking | 88 | 0.49| 0.8 | | 3 | Peaking | 222 | 0.8...- drummguy26

So I've been messing around with some EQ's lately for the Quattro's. Although they sound great with their stock tuning, I wanted to make a few adjustments and try to push the technical chops of these quality drivers. And with some help of AutoEQ and some of my own personal touches, I came up...- drummguy26

Honestly I think @Dsnuts would be a better bet in telling you which is better. I would assume the first link is the better of the two but I could be wrong. Personally I have a custom silver litz cable made by a friend of mine so it's not something I bought online. But anyway, what are your...- drummguy26

Quattro is definitely a pleasure to listen to! I'm finding that I'm loving it more and more by the day, even when I had such strong impressions of it out of the box. The timbre is definitely some of the best I've heard. Everything just sounds right on the Quattro. And contrary to whats been...- drummguy26

Yes, the Quattro's need a brighter source (ESS DAC) to sound it's best. That's been my experience anyway. A warmer sounding DAC like the Mojo make it sound to too warm and dull. Throw on a good silver cable on it, and it really shines!- drummguy26

I wanna say its 4.5mm. Definitely not 5mm. Try 4.5mm first and if thats too small, then its 4.8mm. But Im pretty sure its 4.5. It should be a perfect fit. It should look like this:- drummguy26

So I have recently reacquired my Fan 2's after having sold them to a buddy of mine awhile back. When I popped them back in, to be honest I was a little underwhelmed and understood why I sold them in the first place. Initially a solid set, it didn't have the sub bass rumble and treble extension...- drummguy26

I havent heard the 10AE, but for me, the technicalities are one of the Quattro's biggest strengths. For an all DD set, the technicalities pretty much blow my mind. Throws down with the best of them IMO.- drummguy26

that would be a resounding yes. :) Technical performance is definitely better on the Quattro. Personally Im using the Azla SednaEarFit tips. It fits me the best for this shell design and sounds great. Cant go wrong with it.- drummguy26

Not trying to shill too bad here, but I am absolutely loving the Quattro's. Ive owned many IEM's in my lifetime, some even in the $2-3k range, but I dont think I've listened to (and wanted to listen to) a pair of IEM's for such long periods of time before. I find myself with the Quattros in my...- drummguy26

Very well put! I agree with everything you said about the Quattro. But I am immensly impressed with the Quattro's technicalities and sense of articulation for an all DD set. Probably the best I've heard in that respect. Worth every penny, that's for sure!- drummguy26
