Sony NW-ZX300
I am looking to purchase the ZX300, preferably the Black color and would like to purchase from Amazon (US) since I have a gift card balance and recently received additional gift cards for Christmas. I have found a couple sellers selling the Black version, new for $609. The sellers are...- DrGonzo

Shanling M5s now with TIDAL - Dual AK4493EQ DAC, fully balanced, Wi-Fi, 2way LDAC BT, 3.2 Touch screen, FW 3.7
@davidcotton are you using the R6 the entire 7 hours? If so, that's pretty impressive, as battery life is concerned.- DrGonzo

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
Thinking about picking this DAP up. Seems like a lot of the concerns/complaints about this device are poor wifi connectivity and the 10ohm output impedance. 95% of my listening would be 16 bit flac from SD card using Sony MDR-1AM2 (which are 16ohm headphones) at moderate listening volume...- DrGonzo

Thanks @twister6. Now I just need to decide to keep the DX120 or get the M5S, which I'm leaning towards the latter. Still not ruling out the HiBy R6, though. Decisions, decisions! I really Enjoy your reviews.- DrGonzo

@WindowsX for what it's worth. I think the font you used is much improved over the iBasso FW. My 42 year old eyes can see it much better. Really enjoying! Thanks.- DrGonzo

Sony MDR-1AM2 - Impressions Thread
Anyone know where I can get a standard 3.5mm (no inline remote) for the MDR-1AM2? I just got the ibasso DX120 today and the cable with the inline remote won't work with the DAP. Read on the DX120 thread that the DAP will only work with select cables that have inline remotes, apparently Sony...- DrGonzo

iBasso DX120 pure DAP player. Balanced, single ended, line out and 2 micro SD slots. FW 2.9.21 now out!
I can confirm this. Just received the DX120 today and I plugged my Sony MDR-1AM2 (w/ the single button inline remote) and the sound is very mixed up and the volume is super low. Sounds awful. The DX120 works perfectly with my other headphones w/ no inline remote.- DrGonzo

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
I no longer have the MDR-1A, have not had them for a couple years. I sold off all my cans. From what I can remember I loved the sound of the 1A's. Preferred them over Senn Momentums and V-Moda M-100's. I will be using the new cans primarily while working in an office environment. I also...- DrGonzo

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
My Bestbuy doesn't have a Magnolia section. I can only audition the 1000XM3, but I have no way to audition the 1AM2, that's why I was asking what people thought hear. I value the opinions on headfi; folks here have really become a valuable asset to this hobby. Thanks.- DrGonzo

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
Asking for a little help. I've been out of the portable audio game for a little bit and looking to get back in. I recently purchased the Sony NW-A45 and am looking for some headphones. In the past I've really enjoyed the Sony MDR-1A; I've narrowed my choices to the MDR-1AM2 and the...- DrGonzo

SONY NW-A30 SERIES
I definitely think the A30 series sounds better than the A20 series. The A36 sounds extremely similar and just as good as the ZX100, IMO. The A36 easily drives the Shure SE215 (volume 65-70/120), as well as the UE 900S (volume 70-75/120). For around $300 I don't think you can find a better...- DrGonzo

SONY NW-A30 SERIES
+1 on the Media Go! When I first got my A36HN I used Media Go to transfer my music (BTW, you have to use Media Go to scan your library for the Sense Me channels). With the device connected it automatically found available firmware upgrade and asked if I wanted to install it. Click yes and done...- DrGonzo
