Pai Audio MR2 Sounds great with the X5II for al kinds of music. The MR2 actually sounds good on all the sources Ive tried. 

It is somewhat of a search function and a great addition to the UI. Android based daps and its user interface really isn't for me. I let go of my AKjr and ak100II cause the X5II was just better for me. I prefer how the X5II works and I hope it keeps its hardware buttons to navigate its interface...

Price to performance ratio i would say a more fitting comparison would be to the he400s. For sound quality and tone though I would compare the Monks to the Grado sr325e and the rx-1 to the hd600.

I got a response from them too. I sent an inquiry on why my Macbook Retina wasn't playing nice with my AKjr. There was no sound coming out of the AKjr when using it as a DAC. They sent me a picture of their Macbook Air connected to the AKjr. Not very helpful people over there. Long story short...
