You're right maybe not tinny. I couldn't get the right words. But I'm not wowed by balanced right now. I pair it with EX800st and it's definitely not a bass less iem. Maybe needs more burn in.

Which headphones do you use? Something harder to drive sounds bad the A Walkman.I use it Sonys own EX series of iems and must say I do like it.

The adapter. The player is black, so are your headphones but that adapter looks so out of place. Maybe you should spray paint it black:sunglasses:

There are different capacitors for standard and balanced? I didnt know that. I don't like the sound coming out from balanced now as it sound tinny with no bass.

That looks pretty sweet. I wonder if one can snap legos on it. If they can bring out a small amplifier which can be snapped on the top of this like lego I think it will sell pretty nice.

Ordered this yesterday blindly.   Now I see some debate on the treble.   Is it as bad as the 'metallic' sound of Sony XBA3?   Now me worried.

Sony MDR-201 found at thrift store for $1.99. Also found a non functional skull candy for $.99. So I decided to swap the headphone pads as the ones on the Sony was deteriorated.

Don't see much of a difference but I do hear a lot of difference. More clarity and more natural. But the whole size of the balanced cable and jack put together with a normal sized 3.5mm adapter and cable makes the balanced look like some mega sized car towing cable.

Necro Bump Anyone know the remote model for this unit? I was looking around online and saw some images of the remote. I saw one remote RM-DM4L but some sites don't mention it specifically for d-321. I could be wrong. It looks the same as this remote but I don't want to get the wrong one.

I don't think so, otherwise you wouldn't be going ahead and wasting more money on cables :massage:

New 'retro gear' addition

this thing drives the EX800st insanely! The bass is out of this world.

Anyone know what the 'other functions' are improved with the update? What's the point in updating for "non-thai" music listeners. Out of topic: wish Sony could update the ZX2 since it is still listed on their web page.
