FiiO LC-BT2-FiiO’s latest Neckband sports Bluetooth cable
I've suddenly lost about 50% of the power output on my lc-bt2. It still functions, but it is extremely quiet now to the point that it is unusable. I have tried resetting the device to factory settings as well as plugging it in to use its inbuilt DAC and I have also tried restarting it multiple... -

Mine had no foams, which is problematic. There are certainly sellers out there selling just the empty shells that haven't yet been glued together, which is what you'd need rather than trying to open a finished model and extract the driver to use your own. Definitely a great shell to start from...- mndless

I decided to pick up one of those really cheap ie900 clones off of AliExpress, because I wanted an IEM that might be comfortable enough to sleep in. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804476886021.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US Long story short: their graph is a lie and these...- mndless

My best guess, aside from hardware requirements for CPU and RAM being higher, is that newer versions of Android are more difficult to modify the audio path in. Android does weird things with the audio processing path which can make it difficult to actually realize a device-wide EQ, along with...- mndless

This is a great series of driver cost analysis. It's exciting to see where you're getting a particularly good deal for a set based on raw driver cost alone. Looks like GS, at least for the handful of models you've been able to perform this analysis on, are at worst similarly priced for their...- mndless

I would definitely use some command velcro to stick my DAP to it if I wanted to run that kind of external DAC configuration.- mndless

I expect that they can't disclose who they OEM for as part of an NDA in their contract. It's really common practice, especially when an OEM manufacturer decides to step out on their own to release products independently. I did reach out to them on facebook regarding the possibility of a single...- mndless

I'm reasonably certain that they're actually the OEM for Fearless Audio is GS Audio, so it would make sense that a decent chunk of their sets are derivative from Fearless Audio's products, just with slightly different tuning and some alternate driver selections to lower pricing further to be...- mndless

Their dynamics really do have the same vibe as some of those micro-dynamics, the 6mm ones. Very quick attack, very fast decay, and, to many, quite BA-like. I do wish they had the kind of bass impact I get out of my E13-Pro, which are 6mm micro dynamic drivers and have some ridiculous bass for...- mndless

If something isn't special enough to warrant its own review, then aggregate reviews are a great way to summarize a collective of somewhat bland or disappointing sets.- mndless

Reply to review by 'mndless' on item 'GS Audio ST1'
If you can get your hands on them, I highly recommend tossing a set of DioFit Standard Leakage eartips on and see if the sound signature improves any. They've been one of my most impactful eartips for correcting lackluster bass and taming sharp treble without everything just getting muddy. They...- mndless

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
Interesting. I actually prefer the buttons to be on opposite sides. Like with phones, having too many buttons on one side makes things crowded and difficult to differentiate things on. As for the R3 Pro Saber, I can manage all the buttons with either thumb or middle/ring fingers. But I do agree...- mndless

Earbuds Round-Up
I was considering the M3 because they're a bit easier to drive, and as long as it is possible to open the case without destroying them, I can desolder and resolder drivers without a huge amount of issue. Given the rarity of graphs for 15.4mm drivers, though, this is not terribly likely.- mndless

This exactly. If it's for an end-game highly versatile set, then $250 is quite a small price to pay in the audiophile community. For a set bought solely for a unique sound experience, unless I've managed to already buy everything else on my wishlist which are more generally functional, which is...- mndless

You could always try my new favorite tips, the DioFit brand eartips. Have you heard the Fearless Audio Tequila? I've got the GS Audio GD7B, which seems to be related, and it has essentially no pinna gain, but that doesn't really seem to bother me.
