Am I a heartless monster...
I own quite a bit of tube gear in the form of guitar amps. The reason that many guitarists still choose tube amps mainly has to do with a certain sound they got used to I think. On many of the records people know and love you can hear tube amps. So we're pretty much indoctrinated to like tube...- EnOYiN

Guitar-fi anyone?
You could try to get a loaner if you know someone who plays guitar and has many. I've loaned out my strat a lot of times and it's great for people who want to start playing. That way you don't really have to worry about whether or not the instrument is good enough and it takes away any sunk...- EnOYiN

Guitar-fi anyone?
Cleaned the pots and repaired the reverb tank of my ac30. And I managed to not die in the process. (so far) Pretty happy about that result.- EnOYiN

The Free Music Thread! (100% legal downloads of all formats.)
I like cloudkicker. It's instrumental prog metal. He has a "name your price" without a minimum for most of his stuff. It's not exactly free but still pretty close to it I suppose. Link: http://cloudkickermusic.com/music Artist: Cloudkicker Genre: Proggressive Metal Edit: I just noticed there... -
Foobar2000 not playing music!
No problem. I just linked to the first one I could find. I'm not sure whether it's any good or not. Secret Rabbit Code used to be pretty good, but I'm not sure whether or not there is a plugin for the current version of foobar.- EnOYiN

Foobar2000 not playing music!
Hi. First of all you'd need to get an upsampling component. Like this one: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_multiresampler Download the plugin and put it in your foobar2000\components directory. Then start foobar and go to Preferences>Playback>DSP Manager. You can then see...- EnOYiN

Keyboard-Fi
I switched when I was at about a 100 wpm (with Qwerty) because of RSI problems and right now ( about 1 / 1.5 years later) I'm pretty much back at that level with colemak. I can do 90 wpm most of the time that is. So my is experience when switching has to do with a lot of hatred and anger towards...- EnOYiN

:) It takes quite a while to get good at typing indeed. Most people tend to get stuck around 50/ 60 wpm for quite a while. Took me about half a year to get to 80 wpm so some complaining is warranted I suppose.- EnOYiN

Keyboard-Fi
Just to give you my experience. I am horrible at typing Qwerty after having used colemak for quite a while. Maybe I can get to 50 wpm on a good day. I hardly ever use Qwerty for anything anymore though, so for me it's not that much of a problem. I've heard from other people that it's quite...- EnOYiN

I'm still quite happy with my choice to go with Colemak. Have been using it for about a year now. The only annoying thing I run into regularly is having to change hotkeys for games almost every time.- EnOYiN

Guitar-fi anyone?
I see. The first time I started tuning my first guitar with a floyd rose bridge I broke a string straight away because I forgot to take off the screws on the nut. :) Changing strings isn't that bad though. Just make sure you don't take off all the strings at once.- EnOYiN

Typeracer is something I did quite a bit a well. If you don't have to read the stories any more you know you're practising enough. :) A program I really like is TypeFaster. It forces you to use every key on the keyboard which is mainly relevant for the keys you wouldn't be using all that much in...- EnOYiN

This. All keyboard keys are equal, but some keys are just more equal than others. :) A while ago I ran ubuntu on my laptop and it had the nasty habit of not switching to colemak for the login screen. Is that still the same?- EnOYiN
